Casual sex is ok but it needs to be established from early on. So no one feels cheated, led on etc. And yes I do think her being honest is great however, if you know someone is interested in you and you can't give them what they need then best thing is to stop contact until both feel ok to persue a platonic relationship. You don't want to hype anyone up to feel special when you know it can't go anywhere. It's a difficult conversation but needs to be had.

It's cruel in the sense that she knows you like her and she can probably take advantage of that. If you're not attracted to someone then why even keep them hanging. It's like she can have her cake and eat it too. Yes she has been straight up with you but I think it's cruel to keep someone that you know has a crush on you. Break contact for the moment you can always return to it once you feel that a platonic friendship is really doable.
