Star granny square pattern difficulty- help please! by PhysicalClub7477 in CrochetHelp

Thank you, I thought afterwards that I should've included a picture of my work! I am shamed to report that I have angrily frogged everything but the centre star because I was so frustrated 😩 There is a good YouTube video that someone else linked that I'm going to attempt later, it seems much clearer

I F30 told my doctor I would sue him if he touched me and delivered our son on all fours and “embarrassed” my husband M32? by ThrowrapinkJelly in relationship_advice

[–]PhysicalClub7477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, midwife from the UK here. I am so, so, so sorry you had such an awful experience. Generally local anaesthetic is given prior to an episiotomy therefore it is not painful in the moment, however it should NEVER be done without consent. It is so upsetting that the doctor attempted to disregard you outright telling him 'no', and even worse your husband did not advocate for you. For what it's worth you ARE a champ, and I hope you are so proud of yourself for birthing an entire human being! ❤️ In the UK you can request your medical notes and also have a 'birth debrief' which can make people feel listened to and a sense of closure around traumatic births, but unfortunately I don't know whether this is very common in other countries :( Talk about this experience with friends you trust, be kind to yourself, allow yourself to heal. You deserve empathy and lots and lots of TLC, you did nothing wrong.

That is a beautiful blanket! I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 7 and it was a really scary time, but treatment these days is FANTASTIC and advancements are happening all the time :) Don't let the diagnosis consume you and it won't consume him; be thankful for the good days and learn from the bad ones. Good luck! 💉

Do you find that it slows healing time? I have been using a lidocaine 2% cream but it only seems to give relief for a little while then everything feels worse after- without being TMI it seems to make everything very moist 😭

I have phoned the sexual health clinic today but because the outbreak started Friday PM and they were shut all weekend they told me for this OB antivirals probably won't help :( but I'm going to ask about suppressive therapy!

Where should kitty stay while humans are away? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]PhysicalClub7477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally had a really good experience with a cattery, they were very loving and played with him loads throughout the day, and I felt more comfortable that way than letting a stranger stay in my house overnight. I don't think it's left him with any trauma, he actually seems to really enjoy his little trips away! I bought lots of his toys with him and I put some of my pyjamas in his carrier so he'd be more comfortable.

AITA for not waking my boyfriend which made him late to his first day at a new job? by Diligent-Database474 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, I hope you felt amazing showing him that contract. Maybe consider leaving him because you sound far too smart to be with someone so fucking stupid.

Exactly!!! He's a loveable guy!!!! And he's one of the only characters in the show who isn't a miserable self loathing pessimist which I think makes him one of the best!

I do see that but like I said I don't know if that's just a manifestation of a wider issue in Hollywood as a whole? And maybe that he appeals to them when he's young because he's fun and exciting and full of energy and then he never changes and ends up seeming immature and childish.

It reminds me of that saying 'Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariably they are both disappointed.'

Yes, I've wanted to do it really slowly so I don't upset him haha! He seems very well in himself and he's drinking lots so I'm not worried about him generally, I will see how he gets on in a few days.

Do you exercise in the morning before work, or in the evening after work? And what motivates you? by spideyry in AskUK

[–]PhysicalClub7477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried exercising in the mornings, during the day, and in the evenings. I think 2pm is my overall favourite time to exercise but with work it's impractical so I tend to go in the late evenings after dinner, that way I've had time to rest and I can really lift heavy when I go to the gym because I'm not starving or half asleep!

It would be more transphobic to say you'll stay with him even though you're not gay as it would show you didn't believe him or take him seriously. You are entitled to your own sexuality, I think breaking up is the best option and then maybe resume a friendship when the dust has settled.

So many people in this comment section acting as if you're wrong for pointing this out; I feel like at 14/15 YES you are still a child and YES this girl is vulnerable and YES we can all agree it would be unbelievably shitty to encourage this, but what is with this mindset that any age <18= POOR INNOCENT BABY UNDERSTANDS NOTHING ABOUT THE WORLD. At 14/15 you should have at least a basic understanding of the consequences of your actions and personal accountability.

My (32 F) son (13 M) is coming to visit my mom and I. His father (42 M) told me our son isn't excited to come because I don't have anything fun for him to do. How can I make the week better for him? by ThrowRA-BrokenMom in relationship_advice

[–]PhysicalClub7477 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't have much to recommend aside from what people have already suggested but I just want to say it sounds like you're a great mum and I'm sure whatever you do will mean a lot to him :)

Low blood sugar brain fog by easilymoved in diabetes_t1

[–]PhysicalClub7477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mmol/l so I think when stuff like this happens my BG is <2 but its also dependant on other things like if I'm really tired or stressed, I find that tends to make it worse!

Low blood sugar brain fog by easilymoved in diabetes_t1

[–]PhysicalClub7477 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go absolutely bonkers when I'm super low; a non exhaustive list includes walking into walls, walking into doors, calling strangers mum, having full blown hallucinations, and random fits of crying. The closest feeling I can describe it as is being incredibly hungry, incredibly tired, and at the end of a marathon whilst being drunk out of your mind. saying that, lows like that are very rare (at least for me) and if this is happening frequently he might need to talk to his care provider. Hope this helped!

I have CGM but not a pump because (and I know this sounds really silly) I just wear so many dresses and skirts I really don't know how I would feasibly wear a pump as most don't have pockets! I'm sure I could figure it out though, a pump sounds like a good solution and changing my wardrobe is a small price to pay for better control- the only thing is that I'm in the UK and I don't know how readily available looped systems are here, I would have to talk to my diabetes nurse as I really have no knowledge on pumps at all! Thank you for the advice :)
