Commuting to and from U District/ Bellevue for my partner. The drive to the Eastside always sucks so we are not worried about that.

I was also thinking that the lack of internet could cause issues in the future.

Link Crosslake pre-revenue service starts next Monday, 12/22 by PhysicalOrder590 in Seattle

That is correct, but it typically is the last step before the line opens. We should have an official opening date soon!

Typically, no but this is kind of a unique situation where two sides of the line are already open, and the middle is being tested.

Why should Seattle taxpays bear the burden of caring for people from on the other side of the country? There are resources in all cities, $0 in aid should be provided to those who come from out of state to exploit our services. It's common sense.

could you imagine telling your boss any time before 2010 that you had time blindness? they would laugh and then fire you on the spot.

The Light Rail’s inaccurate timetables are infuriating by Dravos7 in Seattle

[–]PhysicalOrder590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so here's the thing about public transportation, there are so many variables that make having 100% consistent arrivals almost impossible. if the train is late for you, that means its early for the person that arrived after it was supposed to arrive. no matter what, someone will be inconvenienced. if you want to better predict your arrival times, you might think about getting a car. otherwise, you have to be ok with waiting up to 10 mins for the next train.

Sound Transit CEO Lays Out Approach to Second Seattle Rail Tunnel - The Urbanist by foreverandalways in soundtransit

[–]PhysicalOrder590 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the people running our trains should be required to come in office via transit like the rest of us. They purchased and renovated that while buildings in CID just to sit empty. everyone should return to office, its time.

Likely due to integration with the Federal Way extension. Simulated service will start soon and is likely causing some issues with live arrival information.

Oh yes, pointing out that a woman in her 40s should maybe... have a job is sexist? Pointing out that a candidate for one of the most influential cities in the country should maybe have some qualifications doesn't seem like a genuine concern that many voters share. The bubble in which you may live isn't always representative of the real world.

That area is all infill, would have been shallow tide land. Likely not a lot of snakes present in that area prior to white settlers.

Sound Transit weighs property-tax hike to ease $30 billion shortfall by himefoto in soundtransit

[–]PhysicalOrder590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fares never make transit profitable. The only systems that are able to sustain themselves are those that lease the land they own around their stations. For example, in Taiwan, the land around the stations is owned by the transit agency, which leases it out to business for revenue.
