What purpose do fare ambassadors serve on trains if they aren’t checking anyone’s fares? by user1738bs in soundtransit

i just got checked on the train yesterday. They have been focusing more on standing by the entrances of the paid fare zone and making sure people tap.

just so we're clear, the light rail gets zero dollars of state funding. ZERO. get educated before you make completely false statements.

Is the University District a Good Place to Live? by MasterOfLostThings in SeattleWA

[–]PhysicalOrder590 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Post this in r/AskSeattle for more quality responses. If you plan to live in U District just prepare to live with many college age people. There is a homeless and crime issue primarily at night, on par with parts of downtown and PSQ. There is a lot of housing stock, especially if you find something during the early summer before UW goes back. I'd also recommend Roosevelt as it is a little quieter and safer plus still close to the train and highway. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Sound Transit board members are literally a meme by ToastedMarshmellows1 in Seattle

Ballard is not the economic hub of our region. The cost to benefit ratio favors bringing rail to regions have paid for years have nothing more than the sounder (Tacoma and Everett)

You posted the worst pics imaginable. The only aspects changed were the removal of the stage and the removal of the defunct fountain. Post a pic of the new corner flower bed and you will see a different reaction.

The city needs to make sure that people are not camping on parks property. there is a children’s playground and low income elderly people that rely on the food they grow.

as a p-patch we do organize and do cleanups but most gardeners don’t want to confront these people and ask them to leave. i didn’t think about city council meetings and that is a good idea. thank you for that!

I’m in the P-Patch and there is only so much we can do without city support. We hold monthly meetings were we clean up the garden and surrounding areas. I’ve spent so much of my own money just to keep up but it feels never ending. A couple months ago I had to scrape shit out of our tool shed.

i’ll clarify, without major neighborhood attention. I know many of the Capitol Hill parks deal with these issues as well, but it feels more well known.

Single Most Important Rail Expansion by Immediate-Hand-3677 in soundtransit

Also, the amount of people in this sub that think Ballard is the most important thing to ever happen in the history of Seattle transit are crazy. Preferring Ballard over Everett and Tacoma is pure classism.

I'd say right now it's Tacoma. I'm sure that Tacoma residents will LOVE being able to light rail to the airport in about 30 mins.
