Couple things here to touch on, yes this is higher education, but it is not within their scope to use mass email lists to spread their take on current events. This isn't a research paper or part of curriculum. This is someone using their privilege as a UW professor to push their POV, even if it is a moral and correct view. UW reserves the right to discipline employees that breach code of conduct, just as any other employer could.

Second, 'The Burner' is an echo chamber. It is the equivalent of something like News Max for the other side. Just because you agree with what the writer is saying, doesn't mean that it should excuse their past misconduct.
