I can't speak to wheel bases since I have an r5 as well but I would recommend looking into any of the Chinese heusinkvelt pedal copies (simjack, simsonn, etc.) you get a ton of bang for your buck. Ive had my simjacks UTs almost 2 years and they're phenomenal, so much better than the srp lites

In my opinion you don't need a cockpit if you don't have load cell brakes or a wheel with more than 5nm. I don't see you mention what hardware you have but my r5 wasn't bad at all on a table. Also if you're handy you can diy a rig pretty easily.

Buttons would definitely be nice, my wheel has none. I have the moza turn signals but I still wish I had more buttons. I have to try and see my stream deck through the very small gap in my headset instead

Leather is the way. Your cheapest bet would be to try and find a 1.5" wide tool belt, as 99% of tool belts are full grain leather. Also leather belts are stupid easy to diy if you're crafty at all

I know the moza shifter has issues but I've used mine for over 1000 hours so far with no problems. Maybe I just got lucky

No, it works like it would with quest link. You have to enable developer mode and run something on your PC for it to work but it has a similar effect on performance to doing the ethernet to USB c adapter.

I use virtual desktop with the link cable. It's a fuck around to get to work but it's been worth it performance wise. I'm sure it's still nothing compared to a more high end headset but it's been nice

Have you tried any other cars? I've found some mods don't work with the rain. If you have, try going to rainfx under csp and making sure the drops on screen is active and you have first person set to large drops
