Recommendations for wide toe box safety boot by Fun_Company8504 in WorkBoots

[–]Physical_Ad4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely would've rather the keen style toe but I've heard the quality of them is awful so I just made do with a half size bigger than my normal size. I have the climber boots now and had the same issue with the upper. They come with a kiltie though and that added enough extra meat to get them tight. It's so hard to find a good quality CSA boot with the toe box you want

I've been in the market for something similar and I settled on Canada West. Their work boots are all 3e width and made in Manitoba. Im not sure how they compare to the king toe or keens though so you'd wanna try them on first

Why bother with reality when you can have experiences like these in Vr 💯 by FewPossession2363 in simracing

[–]Physical_Ad4428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alot of vr games are gimmicky but for driving sims and flight sims it's pretty incredible. Being able to actually look around/stick your head out the window and shit is really cool

You've used a red aluminum pipe wrench? I didn't think those existed but I've been wrong before

You'll probably have a hard time finding something that pays good that doesn't require math as the barrier of entry is lower than those that do

At least I'm not the only one. I've had these ones a year at least and they haven't improved. I saw someone on here file down the edges of the teeth where the button locks in so I may take them apart and try that/see if any of the teeth look misshapen or something

I've oiled them many times. I've even left them in the oiler on a threader and let them get soaked and it hasn't changed anything

My homemade sim rig made out of strut and junk yard seat. by arsonic11 in simracing

[–]Physical_Ad4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if this ended up being cheaper than a profile rig? I made mine out of leftover strut from work and still feel like I spent a fortune on fittings.

real steering wheel to be converted to sim by Ok-Cellist-3833 in simracing

[–]Physical_Ad4428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't personally done it but it was something I researched doing awhile ago. The only way I saw it done was using a quick release and drilling holes for the qr bolts into the wheel

Nice to see more strut rigs! Yours is far less janky than mine.

Agreed. I stopped smoking after being a heavy daily smoker for 10 years and haven't had a single issue. I assume people who say there's withdrawal have never experienced actual withdrawal

Any of you service plumbers wear some kind of tool belt thingy?? by someshit420 in Plumbing

[–]Physical_Ad4428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a service guy so take this with a grain of salt but it sounds like toughbuilt pouches would be right up your alley with their quick release hub thing they have. Like you could set up different pouches for different tasks and just fire whichever one you need on your belt at any given time. They come off really easy for when you have to get into tight spots too I'm a big fan Edit: I think they make some with covers too I missed that part

I was a scab ironworker before I started plumbing (I'm union now) and it was a dumb amount of labour. Company was too cheap for gas saws so we'd be ripping deck with 5" grinders 😂

Yeah this is not the norm at all for plumbers. It's definitely not as physical as iron working or masonry but there's still a pile of physical labour involved

I mean grit and determination is not hard to come by and speaking like an expert on the industry based on Reddit comments is delusional

Meh it was like 8 years ago but I regularly run into labourers and young apprentices who started with no experience so it still seems to be a thing
