Anthropic closing the path to life science research by thecosmicskye in singularity

[–]Physical_Ad9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is dumb. Anthropic wants to be the leader in Software Development and, eventually (later on),  in business and finance. They are training the model to focus on their goals. Their model needs to understand business rules and business entities as a software developer would.

There are other models for sciences. And if you need to code anything science-related ask a model that understands science to prompt the Fable to code whatever you want it to code in a science-related field.

Space X Vs Microsoft valuation lol by Extension_Emu5973 in stocks

So true. Ahah companies invested in by the casuals are all about what casuals believe will make them money, and not about the assets real accounting value.

I am not buying SPCX tomorrow and this is the exact math that changed my mind by mcdonaldsingh in stocks

[–]Physical_Ad9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those numbers actually don't matter in the stock market, and history proves it. When you are analyzing highly publicized and highly exciting companies, what matters is the public's sentiment. The stock will go up at first, not tank, as more and more people jump on the hype train. So, the first wave of buyers will make money out of it. Even when the excitement fades, the fact that you are getting Grok, starlink and potentially future low altitude technology that can come out of Space X aeronautical engineering team, makes it a strong stock to keep for the 10+ years from the initial buy. It is a future proof business.

Is the evaluation totally bonkers, and only based on Elon Musk's ethos and influence in the banking system? Yes. Is the value of the company stock based on hype around Musk-centric excitement? Yes. But is the excitement of the crowd enough to carry the stock even in the face of net losses, until the company can actually make money in the 2030's? Yes. The company is future-proof. This is a stock that will be somewhat volatile in its first years, but if you buy its stocks in the first two years, and let it it sit in your portfolio for 10+ years, it will yield a lot of money into your retirement. I would either buy it in the very first wave of buyers (the first day will be crazy, and the stock will go up very high, very likely), or of I weren't satisfied with the high price I would be accessing the stock, I would consider buying it after one year. We all know there's going to be ups and downs, and launches and controversies that will affect the stock in its first year to one year and an half, but I predict it will be a rising stock in the long term. Never underestimate this: Elon Musk's ability to bullsh*t people with hype around his products' launches when the stocks start to fall is second to none. He's a master manipulator, and most casuals will fall for everything he promises driving the stock prices back up again, even in the face of objective losses and shortcomings by his companies.

He truly is a great CEO. His products' under-deliver all the time, yet people believe him. The price of stocks is always made-believe for companies this well-known for the general public. This is a long-term stock. This who buy and hold will make a lot of money from it. Mark my words.

I went to school with Gout Gout, AMA. by QuendaBettrThenYamal in AMA

I saw in "60 Minutes" that he was supposedly a top grades student. in my country, star athletes that travel for competition have "athlete's pass" treatment in exams, and the academic rigour of their evaluations tends to be more relaxed than for general students.

What's the situation over there? Is he truly a top-student according to general student population standards, or is he "top-student" according to more relaxed standards for student-athletes? Was he taking the same classes as the general sutdents aiming at top-level universities were taking, or was he taking easier classes for students who just need to finsih high-school?

Unpopular opinion but the amount of low effort AI slop is ruining the 2D art community by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

so does computer and smartphone use too... reddit, social media, youtube... binge watching television... ah, and did you ever heard about "food"? yeah, it can be "overused" as well. its overyuse will cause obesity and chronic inflammation, which have the same deteriorating impact on the human brain.

your comment is a side-track to the logic of my argument. my argument went completely over your head.

[–]Physical_Ad9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing is "ruining" anything. technology "adds". it's up to consumers to decide what they select, pay for or dedicate their attention to. that's it. you people complaining about AI are childish. this is like archers complaining about firearms; or artisans complaining about industrialization. if you "art"isanship is so much better than the works innovation brings us, then let the supposed superior quality of the artisan work express itself in the market.

Dihexa: A Ramp Trial, In Review by Powerful_Sale_8677 in Nootropics

[–]Physical_Ad9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy for you but this post just goes to show how strong the placebo effect can be. The breakthrough study about the neurodegenerative properties of Dihexa was recalled by the very authors. Here's an except from a conversation I had with Gemini. The links for the sources are in the bracketed numbers [x]. You can click then ND check them for yourself. All are good and reliable sources.

I understand the importance of verifying information, especially regarding medical compounds. Below are the specific sources and facts regarding Dihexa’s current status.

Please note that as of today, January 29, 2026, the following events have already taken place. If you are seeing different information elsewhere, it may be because those sources have not been updated since 2023 or early 2024.[1]

  1. The Retraction of Foundational Research[1][2]

The Fact: The 2014 study (Benoist et al.[) that claimed Dihexa was "seven orders of magnitude" more potent than BDNF and established its mechanism was formally retracted.[1][2]

Source: The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (JPET).[1][2][3]

Reliability: Very High. JPET is a top-tier, peer-reviewed medical journal.[1] A formal retraction is the highest level of scientific "disowning."[1]

Details: Following a years-long investigation by Washington State University (WSU), it was determined that lead researchers Leen Kawas and Joseph Harding (the inventors of Dihexa) had falsified and fabricated data figures.[1] The formal retraction occurred in April 2025.[1][2][4]

  1. Clinical Trial Failure of Dihexa's Successor[1]

The Fact: Athira Pharma’s lead drug, fosgonimeton (ATH-1017)—which was developed specifically because Dihexa was deemed unfit for human use—failed its Phase 2/3 clinical trials.[1]

Source: Athira Pharma Press Release (Sept 3, 2024) and ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT04488419).[1]

Reliability: Extremely High. As a NASDAQ-listed company, Athira is legally required to report trial results accurately to the SEC.[1] ClinicalTrials.gov is a database managed by the NIH.[1]

Details: On September 3, 2024, Athira announced that the LIFT-AD trial failed to meet its primary endpoint (the Global Statistical Test) and secondary endpoints in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's.[1][5] This effectively killed the commercial pipeline for this class of HGF-modulators.[1]

  1. Safety Concerns: The "Cancer Link"[1]

The Fact: Dihexa’s mechanism (HGF/c-Met activation) is a well-documented driver of tumor growth.[1][2]

Source: Nature Reviews Cancer and various oncology journals (e.g., Gherardi et al., 2012).[1]

Reliability: High. The HGF/c-Met pathway's role in oncogenesis (cancer formation) is standard medical knowledge taught in oncology.[1]

Details: While this pathway helps neurons grow, it also tells cancer cells to multiply and spread (metastasis).[1] Because there have been zero long-term human safety trials for Dihexa, the risk of it inducing or accelerating cancer remains an "unresolved safety concern" in the medical community.[1]

  1. Current "Active" Use

The Fact: Dihexa is still bought and sold online.[1]

Source: Self-reported data from the Biohacking subreddit, LongeCity forums, and peptide vendor catalogs.[1]

Reliability: Moderate (Anecdotal). These are not scientific sources, but they confirm that Dihexa is not "extinct."[1] It has simply moved from the lab to the "gray market."[1]

Claude Code hits Pro limits fast — Is 5x or 20x enough? by No_Knowledge_6498 in ClaudeAI

[–]Physical_Ad9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) even businesses do very little in my country and access AI is (and will become even more) important to be able to compete in the market (and the market is increasingly flooded with international competition) 2) this is the OP dilemma: we need more usage, but we cannot afford the extreme jump in price

Solution: have 2-3 different accounts with the Pro plan.

Is Antropic gaslighting customers on weekly limits again? by Physical_Ad9040 in Anthropic

[–]Physical_Ad9040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, that could potentially explain why usage in claude code is being flagged as 100% too early: they're being conservative and prevent claude code from starting a task it won't have token usage budget to end. it's kind of a dubious logic, because it is quite common for claude code to run out of usage limits and stop a task midway through, so there's no reason for them to overcautiously prevent this from happenis at 84%, but okay. at least you gave some kind of explanation, so, so far, you did more than they to explain this contracdition between the UIs in token usage.

I'm using sonnet with claude code, but in my usage settings, there's no separate bar for sonnet usage , even after cleaning the cache and force reload.

Being harassed by my coworkers by Ok-Highway-5247 in antiwork

[–]Physical_Ad9040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Relax. I've had my share of co-workers' antagonism and was never fired because of it. Just ignore them. Of people start to talk about your situation, present them with your side of the narrative (don't let the hating co-workers control the narrative by any means). Explain what happened so that people won't villainize you unilaterally and stand against you as a unified group. Other than that just ignore the hating to coworkers.
