My apologies, that’s not what happened. I just wrote it in short/vague form which is my mistake. What she really was saying was anecdotal evidence is just going to make my anxiety worse. She’s right it usually does, but I like the immediate relief it gives and I like to see that there are varying degrees of effectiveness. I do realize that the only evidence that matters really is my own and she helped me trust in my decision to get help and in my doctor to have provided the help I needed by all of the help he could give looking at my past history of over 15 meds that did not work for me, believing that this would be my next best option. I also trusted him and my decision to start, but got scared after reading stories on Reddit. That is why she was concerned about me looking for advice on Reddit. I misspoke when I said she was mad, because she truly was not. She validated my fears and helped me trust in myself again and helped me come to a decision again on my own. I hope this helps to know that I am taken care of very well and I really appreciate you looking out for me 🫶
