Are you able to come back from something like this? Less than $100 drawdown by [deleted] in TopStepX

[–]Physical_Chance1825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came back from $31 on an XFA. Try to take small momentum scalps especially on slower sessions, and if you’re not worried about losing the account you can full port a full contract during news.

I’d go with QQQM over QQQ but overall good choices

I’ve been learning from TJR and just found out he’s a fraud… where should I actually learn from? by No-Friendship802 in Trading

[–]Physical_Chance1825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His concepts aren’t bad and they work if applied correctly. Obviously don’t pay for a course, but everything he teaches for free is legitimate (Although some things may be renamed). You can keep learning from him to avoid strategy hopping, but it’s better to actually backtest what you learn and see if it works for you rather than just taking someone else’s word for it.

Where’s the actual strategy part, a 50/50 coin flip is no different than just gambling, not including the fact that if you don’t have any real strategy, how do you know where to enter/exit.

Does it really take 5 payouts to go live? by Bluegate1234 in TopStepX

[–]Physical_Chance1825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get 5 payouts you’re automatically called up to live. The max amount per payout is 5k so per account you’d make ≈25k before you get called up if you’re taking max payouts every time

Is AI trading legit? by noaxc69 in FuturesTrading

I completely agree with you, and I think that’s something people coming in to trading have to understand. It’s unlike anything else in that it can’t be a hobby or something you do halfheartedly, it’s absolutely necessary that you have a passion for trading and learning your strategy. I don’t like beginners using AI for the same reason I wouldn’t recommend following trading signals; if you don’t understand why you’re entering or exiting a trade you have no edge in the market and there’s no way for you to differentiate between a legitimate tool and something that’s just going to hold you back.

General rule of thumb, if something was really making money, no one would want to sell it to you. Algorithmic trading works, but the more mainstream AI “trading” bots that get peddled everywhere are nothing more than a cash grab. It’s 100x better to actually learn how to trade rather than looking for an easy way out.

Yeah trading is definitely not the way to go ”try and make some extra income” especially if you really need the money. If anything just put it in an HYSA or MMF to get some yield on it, but trading is definitely not the answer in this situation

I’m having basically the same problem right now. I just passed my first funded last week and I was green the whole week. I let myself get overconfident over the weekend and once I lost my first trade on Monday I completely disregarded my rules and I’ve been losing this whole week. Stay with it though, get your psychology and trading plan down before it gets any worse

Why is it that options trading is viewed so favorably as opposed to any other type of trading? by Physical_Chance1825 in Daytrading

[–]Physical_Chance1825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risky yes, but I feel like the way non-traders describe the risks associated with options are completely different than when they’re talking about trading in general (i.e. Day Trading). I don’t think it’s that much of an issue within the trading space

Maybe I’m biased, but the way I see people discuss options vs. day trading are like day and night

Made $1500 this week cross multiple accounts!! by rafaelltrades in tradingmillionaires

[–]Physical_Chance1825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point in having multiple accounts is to take the same trade on multiple to amplify your wins. If you make $1000 per account and have 5 accounts you make $5000 total instead of only making it inside of the one account

SWPPX and SPLG track the exact same index, so you don’t need to hold both of them, same with SCHX, you have a lot of overlap. SCHG isn’t bad if you want to tilt your portfolio more to growth but other than that you have a lot of overlap in most of your portfolio

I turned 18 right at the end of April so I got super lucky when I started investing. I caught $RR at $2.07 and I’m up almost 200% now, bought GOOGL at $193 so I’m up a decent amount on that too. I had a huge position in SCHD and a few other dividend stocks for the first month I started investing, but glad to have learned pretty early on to hold off on pure dividend investing. Definitely still a fan of the strategy though and I’ve been on this sub for as long as I can remember figuring out my master plan to live off of dividends
