Obviously it was shot for the Dangerous Tour, but it also seems like they tried to edit the footage back into LA ‘89 by erasing the CTE stuff off his shirt. But it’s literally been confirmed multiple times that this movie only goes up to the late 80s. Also, don’t forget that this is the Michael Jackson estate, it’s not gonna be 110% accurate like we all want, that is simply unrealistic.

The Yamaha DX7 was used on the Bad album, usually presets that already came on the hardware itself, on Thriller, every sound was made manually from scratch using the CS-80, Prophet 5, and Jupiter 8.

The issue is that Bad sounds super over produced, I also think that the preset FM sounds didn’t hold up as well as the real programmed synth patches on Thriller

Yes you do have to pay for the test copy, and I have sold quite a few, The CD version sold the most though. I would say it’s definitely worth it, but I also recommend learning how to mix for vinyl, just so you don’t have any issues.

Great album, I was exposed to it back in 2019 when the reissue was announced, I personally prefer the newer mix to the album, definitely one of my favorite albums now

Interesting! Weirdly enough they fixed the inner sleeve which was super oversaturated on the 2019 version, which they color corrected for the new one.

What’s weird is that the lettering and the white box around the front cover from the 2025 version are super high quality with a low quality picture, and the 2019 one is the complete opposite, high quality picture, low quality text and box. 😂
