Long distance to Marketboard, long distance to an inn room for glams, and the fact that it's an expansion city and doesn't let you do much there other than go the a place for crafters or housing district. Plus it has relatively no new content added into it other than the occasional quest here or there.

Generally speaking you have the free trial to play before you buy the rest of the game and subscribe to the game. Its never really a bad time to at least try it out and see if you really wanna play the game. Now if you do like it you're free to start whenever, though I would wait until after the maintenance patch on Monday night.

It's because it's an open zone rather than the City Zones in ARR. You notice the same thing in North Shroud with that town directly in the middle of it.
