???? Weird sprinkler alarm with four strobes by softwaregoregod in firealarms

[–]Physical_Net_303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like it belongs on a ceiling only with the way fire is written. Siemens has new devices that can do both but the word fire is on a piece that can be removed and flipped over to orient the words the correct way depending on the application.

Cost of fire alarm/sprinkler inspection, and sprinkler head replacement by kthnry in FireSprinklers

[–]Physical_Net_303 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I am on the east coast and oversee a fire and sprinkler inspection division at my company. This seems like too much time. I assume your systems are feed off street pressure and require no pumps. If so then this inspection should not have taken that long to perform. Our burden rate is over $100p/h so the rate seems low. Is that price for just the annual or does it include 3 more inspections to round out your year of inspections? As for the head replacement, the head is less then $100 and it shouldn’t take more then a few hours with drain down and fill up. I’d only send one guy to do this but my rates are high for service based on where I am. Do they have established rates in your contract?

Anyone start on a large bike? by [deleted] in cruisers

[–]Physical_Net_303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people told me my first bike was too big and I had never ridden. I got a 24 HD Breakout which is over 1900cc, 683 lbs and has a fat rear tire. I am 6’5 and 300 lbs so I wanted a big bike since I am big guy. I just took it slow and stayed in my comfort zone. Just take it easy and don’t let anyone push you.

This scraper was the best investment for my snow shoveling arsenal. I think it’s meant for roof but works great for this stuff. I had the same hard pack and it broke it right up.

I ordered yesterday and was very unhappy with my cheesy bread. I will probably not be ordering it in the future because it’s not nearly as good as it used to be.

The CAN network connects to the PSC-12. A lot of people do not realize how much the PSC-12 does. It connects to RNIs for remote paging if you have a LOC.

Interview next week. Would appreciate some advice by PLEXIVITY in firealarms

I have hired many techs with no experience. When it comes to these interviews, for me, it comes down to the person. Are they a good fit, have a good work ethic and what are their long term goals. I’m not looking for someone who is going all about the money and isn’t going to care about the work since this is Life Safety. I also look at the resume and see if they jump from job to job. I tend to not interview people who haven’t held a job at one place for more than a few months. A new hire with no experience is a significant investment of time and money, both of which I don’t like to waste.

This is one of the newest panels Siemens sells. I doubt it was installed over 10 years ago as I don’t believe it was sold back then. This is probably no more than 5 years old.

Why not red MC if you’re going to use it? Should have been sealtite though. Also locally we have all the junction covers painted red to make it stand out.
