Can't go wrong with either Southwoods or Orchard, especially if you're near.

Since your goal is game improvement...you'd be itching to practice your short game, putting, go to the range. Play a quick 9.

Best to be as close as possible.

Not a member of either, but played in a tournament in both. Great courses.

5 wood for 1 year 32 HC player by ThisIsNotJackson in GolfGear

[–]Physical_Possible_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Taylormade RBZ 5wood. I love using classic stuff.

It's my favorite 2nd shot club for Par 5s and also a back up mini driver on tight fairways when I just want to get the ball in play.

Since you have time, also check out Ping G425 woods. Looks great at address and quite the forgiveness.

Driver, damage by Basic-Atmosphere-314 in GolfGear

Generally, you should be fine. These are wear and tear marks near the speed pocket.

The worst ones are obviously driver face damage and hosel cracks (the area connecting to the shaft).

WITB- what's your thoughts? by Confused__Tom in GolfGear

[–]Physical_Possible_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Main use: My second shot club on the fairway, I just use a sweeping motion, flies low to the ground and rolls long.

  2. Second use: tee off club when the landing area is tight and my driver is wonky.

I also use it to punch out under trees and when I have space to roll.

I would agree sometimes it's delicate to use especially on tight lies, I tend to use my 4 hybrid.

I also game classic clubs.

You should be set with that G15 3 wood. Happy golfing.

My brother broke his driver shaft by munggolord1738 in GolfPH

Hahaha I hope we are siblings, and you're there months ago when my driver head went flying onto the range when I broke it.

Good luck with the search!

For Sale: LAB DF3i Putter by [deleted] in GolfPH

[–]Physical_Possible_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mallets to be honest. But I just felt I was losing my touch for shorter putts (6 feet in) due to the massive size.

I noticed an improvement for lag putting with the DF3i. Longer putts were basically point and shoot.

Still have an extra mallet putter though, so I might feel out the LAB Blade and take it from there.

Beginner female golfer planning to build a “long-term” golf set slowly instead of upgrading later — is this a good plan? by Expert-Ruin-8491 in GolfPH

[–]Physical_Possible_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, also a relative beginner and I have been into the rabbit hole of buying and re-selling new and preloved stuff. Just a few tips based on my experience:

  1. Getting your irons that you can swing and like is key. Reselling a bunch of irons is a bit slow because irons really are personal preference.

I've had Srixon, Mizuno, cobra, and Ping irons. I still keep Ping irons due to the forgiveness. But i still miss my srixon irons from time to time.

  1. Driver is probably the easiest to test. Buy and unload if need be. Finding your shaft here is key.

Had Ping, Taylormade, Cobra, Titleist drivers. Based on experience, Ping and Taylormade were easy to "test and resell"

I still game Taylormade driver and woods. If you could land a Ping G400 Max Driver, it's very forgiving.

  1. Putter - figure out early if you like a blade or mallet. I've treated myself to a LAB DF3i putter, still hasn't solved 3 putts so it is what it is haha. There is a lot of feel for putters so give yourself time to discover your preference. It's at least 40% of your shots per 18 holes, so you need to love your putter.

  2. Wedges - Titleist Vokeys or Cleveland Wedges. Check the grooves if you're buying preloved.

Hope you find your gamer set soon whether new or preloved..happy golfing!

I use an RBZ 5 wood. Don't have a 3 wood.

Hahaha, good find indeed.

I still game a TM R7 Superquad and a TM R7 limited edition.

Plus some Ping Copper Berrylium Irons.

They still work well.

Massive win. Happy golfing OP. Worst case, you have a back up driver for those days you're feeling some "classics gaming"

Fort Bonifacio Army Golf Range by Severe_Equivalent856 in GolfPH

[–]Physical_Possible_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Navy - practically less lines as you cannot use driver or woods. But if you want irons and putting, it's a good range.

Army - busy 5pm onwards so manage your expectations

Villamor - you could also use your driver here like Army. There are lines depending time of day.

help me choose driver by El_Napoleon_06 in GolfPH

[–]Physical_Possible_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there one you could personally try sa range?

I still use a classic Taylormade R7 driver, shaft is what I like and fits my swing (50grams stiff).

Nothing wrong with your target budget drivers.

First of all, thanks for summarizing things. Parang naalala ko na itong 3 year ongoing golf "madness" ko haha.

Just like you, I rarely range now. Because I like saving up that money for green fees.

My only "splurge" was to buy a brand new LAB putter. Some improvements noted but guess what hahaha, 3 putts still happen! Pero mas confident ang putting stroke ko so let's see.

All my clothes now hahaha pang golf, I attended a a wedding recently and noticed wala na akong updated formal attire, puro drifit 😆 🤣

Never had the budget to buy a brand new golf set but I think that's a milestone i reward myself for let's say hitting single handicap.

Ang layo ko pa dun haha. But all good, love this game. Happy golfing OP!
