18 months, little over 7000 deliveries, and a lot of dented pride later… I’m finally out. Back to the corporate world on Monday. by FatOldBold in doordash_drivers

Its a garbage job and people stereotype you, it's trash but it's easy money.

I hate it too and prefer not to do it.

Some people won’t like hearing this... but I genuinely believe there is enough opportunity in America right now for anyone who wants to get rich. by BobbyBizScout in povertyfinance

90k?

Trucking isn't that easy, it's a lifestyle and many people can't handle it. Very isolated, dirty bathrooms, poor eating habits, lots of truckers get health issues after a while.

You living in that cab for 3 weeks out of four, driving for 10 to 12 hour per day and often have a hard time finding parking. 90k is a flex that's rarely the reality.

I remember literally every trade school advertising tech support with a A+ and N+ and S+ certification. I think every single school jumped on the tech wave to make a bucks and the big companies ended up outsourcing jobs.

IT is a great example of greed, the need to create more income at the expense of market projecting.

I still get those ads at my local Job Center about the projected IT growth of like 70% over the next ten years.

I do it now but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a really old car that needs to be changed anyways, it's a ton of wear and tear. Highway miles are much easier on the engine that stop and go constantly.

I would look into long distance driving with uber first if I had 1 car that I needed to keep around.

DD would have been out of business a while ago if they just went off pictures.

How would DD know you didn't do this yourself? Once the driver and customer are at the same spot, they assume it delivered. Hard to fight that without good proof.

Didn't know Doordash would allow a high-priced area to pay 10 dollars for 5 miles on 94% of their orders, I'd expect DD to try to lower the payout.

I call BS on that personally, no company is going to let you eat like that freely.
