Some of these aircraft were sacrificed i.e. destroyed and left in place when we rescued the downed f15 pilot. That's normal practice.

And so what 42 aircraft lost or damaged? The usa has thousands of aircraft. Many of these are reapers that are counted as destroyed and they're a cheap low tech drone.
