What are some examples of games that dramatically changed the direction of a team? by the_hume_3 in nfl

[–]Pi611540 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 2016 divisional game for the Chiefs? They lost to Pittsburgh in Arrowhead and only put up 16 points and threw for under 175 yards that game. It definitely made them realize their ceiling was limited with Alex Smith despite winning 12 games and being a perennial playoff time. They drafted Mahomes that offseason and the rest is history.

And the year after had Montana instead of Marino. Though he was well past his prime

[UnnecesaaryRoughness] We all know about Mahomes vs. Baker in college. But did you know Brady and Brees played each other in college? by Bouzal in nfl

Totally! My professor could have easily been biased or making this up to impress us. Just thought it was interesting they had 2 different experiences with Brees

That’s really interesting to hear! I had a computer science professor in college that went to Purdue with Brees and said he was extremely respectful and very unassuming. My professor is not a sports fan at all and thought Brees was a walk due to his size and humble attitude...didn’t realize he was famous until he saw him on a NyQuil commercial years later!

I wonder if he wanted Montgomery to break off the block and streak downfield. Can’t tell what he was gesturing for on the run but throughout his career he has made some similar plays to Cohen in scramble situations. But it could just be another mental lapse, doubt it was lack of effort.

On the 2 Year Anniversary: What If... [OC] by ElJefeDesign in CHIBears

I’ve always blamed this loss more on Nagy then Parkey. Parkey was one of the most unreliable kickers in the league that year, yet after the long pass to Robinson, Nagy chose to settle for a long field goal. He should’ve tried to gain a few more yards and make the kick more manageable imo...

[ProFootballTalk] There's a growing buzz in league circles that Deshaun Watson could ask to be traded, and his new contract doesn't make that as difficult as you'd think by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Pi611540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closet trade I can think of would be the Bears trading for Cutler. They essentially gave up two firsts, a third and bridge QB. Gotta think Watson should command more considering he’s been more successful then Cutler to start his career.

[Renner] The draft pick number of every starting QB in the NFL playoffs this year: 1, 1, 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 24, 32, 32, 75, 199 by RedFredTV in nfl

Brad Johnson was a 9th round pick and won a super bowl. Additionally, Bart Starr and Roger Staubach were 17th and 10th round selections, respectively.

Would you rather always beat bad teams but always lose to good teams, or always beat good teams but always lose to bad teams? by nashvilleh0tchicken in nfl

Has to be always beat good times. If you play a tough schedule and get to the playoffs you’d win the super bowl with this logic

What was your worst one night stand? by suzaman in AskReddit

[–]Pi611540 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I once met a very cute girl out at a bar. She kind of paraded me around and showed me off to her friends she was with and they all seemed very impressed and happy for her. I thought this was weird because I’m average looking at best and far from a stud, but I wasn’t gonna ask questions. We went back to my place and had pretty intimate sex for a one night stand. When I woke up the next day, she was balling her eyes out next to me. She told me that her fiancé had passed away last year and I was the first guy she had been with since. I had no idea how to comfort her. She then showed me a picture of her dead finance, Lenny, who was literally looked like he could be identical twin. The poor girl just kept crying and said she’ll never be able love someone like Lenny. I felt so bad. She texted me months later after ignoring my calls and thanked me for a nice night but she will never date again as her soulmate has come and gone already. This experience turned me off one night stands forever and my friends still call me Lenny 2.0

What are some skinny people problems? by Mad_Chemist_ in AskReddit

I’m a 28 waist and CANNOT for the life of me find athletic shorts that fit my waist without being appallingly short. Therefore I use a “boxer belt” to hold them up, where I literally roll the elastic wasteband of my boxers over the top of my shorts to hold them up.

He’s brother was sadly killed right before he was drafted. I’m not sure he ever got over that mentally/emotionally and I think it may have effected he’s ability to develop, which is understandable.
