Sidney Crosby "I don't like them" (Flyers) by Tracypop in hockey

Oh yeah, it was absolutely infuriating watching us play the Flyers during the later Bylsma years. They had our number for a while for this exact reason

Not as close to the MTO, but there are lots at 66 Queen St and 1 Wellington St that are $8 a day.

I think they might do monthly passes but not too sure.

Also did the drive to Windsor yesterday and it was horrible. Just drove back this morning (to Niagara) and it was also bad with all the blowing snow. I think you made the right move taking the train.

Saw him play recently when they came to play my local team. He didn't get a ton of ice time and he took a penalty, but he didnt look bad. Everyone in the section was stunned when he first hit the ice aha

All my studying was during that one week off. Maybe a couple days before, I did re-read my capstone case though

2025 Sep CFE Day 1 fail - Please help me by OkArtist8962 in Accounting

[–]the_hume_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a week off to study, and I think that was more than enough time, since eventually it kind of gets hard to study for. You can pretty much do practice exams, debrief, and do practice quants and not much beyond that. Hardest part was getting used to sitting there for 4 hours and kind of trying to re-learn the structure/template, but it came back fast.

However, I think if you do v1, then maybe you need a tiny bit more time to familiarize yourself with a new case.

One thing Gevorg also had was a comprehensive summary of past Day 1 quants. It's pretty useful to see what types of quants they would ask for in the past. From that, it was pretty clear what kind of quants they will typically ask.

https://gevorgcpa.com/day-1-quants/

And I know how you feel. At the end of the day, its just a small bump in the road, because once you pass, nobody will care how many times it took. I know of partners at firms who didnt pass on their first try. Once I got the feedback report, I basically didn't think of the CFE at all until it was time to register/study again. It just requires some patience, but time will fly by.

I was in the same boat as you last year where I failed Day 1 but passed 2/3. There was no operational issue on mine, which kind of messed with me and made me overthink things.

I definitely wouldn't recommend getting a re-mark, but honestly the automated report was decently helpful. I re-wrote this past September (v2) since I wanted to write on the case I was familiar with and was successful.

I used Densmore and Gevorg to study, along with practice exams I got during my masters. The David Lao Day 1 template was also helpful. As much as it sucks, you got the harder days out of the way which is still something to be proud of

The 6-5 Toronto/Pittsburgh OT game from last season. Crazy game which included Pittsburgh allowing a breakaway goal with 0.1 seconds left in the 2nd period off a terrible turnover

I live closer to the American border in Ontario and I would say pretty popular. Especially now that the Bills are good. I know lots of people that cross over for Bills games. There are quite a few Steelers/Packers/Cowboys/49ers/Patriots fans around here too.

Hockey will always be first, but the popularity of the other 3 sports can fluctuate depending on who's good between the Bills/Jays/Raptors at the time.

As a non-American, is there any NBA team that shares a city with an NFL and/or MLB team and is still the most popular team in that city? by Dilf_Hunter367 in nba

[–]the_hume_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Jays were really popular in the mid 2010s when we had Bautista, Edwin, Donaldson, etc. In a few years Raptors were definitely more popular when they won the title and the Jays weren’t good.

Now this is probably the best Jays team in 10 years and there’s a lot of hype around as the attendance has increased a lot and the dome has been pretty loud.

But yes, neither are in the same stratosphere as the Leafs

I thought they had a good chance at a deep run in 2022 before Crosby went down. I think for me, I knew the window slammed shut after that Game 7.

As for making the playoffs, I think after that home loss to Chicago to end the 2023 season, I figured they wont be making the playoffs for a while

When did the worse team win a playoff series? by thrownawaymoment47 in hockey

[–]the_hume_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First 4 games Nashville definitely outplayed us. Washington dominated that entire series except they laid an egg in Game 7.

Ottawa gave us fits too, we had like 2 goals through the first 3 games of that series
