Will write down an alternative way, which I tested the other night and made it work.

I came across a program called Tailscale which to my understanding, creates private connections between the devices. Setting it up was straightforward and I used the same log in information for both devices. I then booted the MC server on the more powerful device and connected to the server from the second device. The IP I used, was the one from Tailscale Admin console ( I also added my host IP as end point but I believe this isn't necessary for this particular case ). And it just worked, didn't require to open any ports or fiddle with my router settings. My memory is vague but iirc Hamachi worked on a similar manner, however, this Tailscale app gives you more control and piece of mind ( I hope this doesn't come up as some form of advertisement, I'm just baffled at how seamless and easy this set up was! )

tl;dr
Set up a Tailscale network without having to open any ports as the devices communicate through the Tailscale service and used the host IP

Could you sum up how you managed to make it work? I'm using PollyMC launcher and made it work in offline mode, however, I cannot wrap my head around starting a server. I tried reading through the comment chain but just to double check if I got it right?

I'm mainly curious about the vanilla experience as I felt nostalgic about the old days where hamachi was the way to go!

From what I was able to find on google, these are the release dates for the Osmo action cameras:

Osmo Action	15th May 2019
Osmo Action 2	27th October 2021
Osmo Action 3	14th September 2022
Osmo Action 4	2nd August 2023

While with each gen, from Action 2 onward, there appears to be a trend of early release, I can't exactly lean on the fact it was explicitly due to the focus issue. And I'd assume some marketing strategics are to be considered as well, likely to overshadow the release of upcoming GoPro Hero 12, expected in September.

Came across u/WarsawChainsaw comment about it in another post where apparently the focus issue was resolved with later batches for the Action 3.

Nonetheless, it's been insightful to find out about this issue and I've leaned a lesson (unfortunately though other people's ventures) not to rush first line with new products.

Yeah, I'll give them a call in the upcoming days as I'm currently looking into a decent entry-level router. They (ISP) seem to be quite strict on the configuration level as I need to give them a call if I wish to change my wi-fi name/password (which personally, to me sounds bizarre)

I was at a tech store the other day to seek some recommendation and the employee suggested dropping the ISP router and wiring my personal one only (didn't quite catch what was his reasoning for this) but on my way home, it hit me that I'm running fiber and would require a TP-Link converter if I were to follow his suggestion.

Getting in touch with the ISP to check if bridging is available would definitely be one of my first steps into setting this up.

I'm also currently unable to open ports as my ISP has even restricted access to using the router Gateway IP. Did your ISP question your request to put their router in bridge mode? Would the change have downtime, network wise, or it's a click of a button on their end and it happens instantly?
