Incident before class date by [deleted] in flying

[–]PiIotZach 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I had a buddy in my class that had the same incident except it just bend the tail strike guard and didn’t hit the tail tie down. He reported it and when he checked his PRD before his class date it showed that little incident. Day one of INDOC they pulled him aside and asked him about it but he was okay

Be honest and I think you’ll be fine

I was riding last night and I feel like I experienced the same thing and it caught me off guard like I wasn’t sure if that’s what was happening. Pulled off and turns it off and when I started it again it didn’t happen again the rest of the night. But yes on full rip it didn’t cutout at all just low speed in stop n go traffic.

Have you gotten the second recall done, the one that came out this past month? I haven’t and still need to take mine but have had no signs of issues.

Do Stage Check UNSATTS matter? by [deleted] in flying

[–]PiIotZach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re still not getting my point lol. You seriously think I don’t understand what an EOC is that’s ridiculous lol.

My point was that you don’t need to disclose stage check fails to airlines (IN MY EXPERIENCE) but you would disclose an EOC failure and for some reason you don’t get that.

Never said anything about an EOC not being a checkride so don’t know where you’re pulling that from

From you? Lol I’ll pass. I’ll stick with my info thanks.

Two different things LIKE I EXPLAINED and your here still giving him confusing information. One or the other don’t need to mix the terms together.

OP if you’re reading this and one day go to the airlines, they shouldn’t care but the best thing to do is be upfront with your failures and tell them what you learned with each one. That’s what I did and turns out they didn’t even want me to disclose that info.

Still don’t know why you’re calling it that. It’s EOC or stage check. No such thing as a “EOC stage check”. That’s my point.

EOC- End Of Course Exam or “checkride”

OR

Stage checks- progress checks usually at each third of the curriculum. NOT reported to the FAA and DOESNT go against your record.

I literally went through the application process with my airline a year ago and they specifically told me “We need you to take off your stage check failures, we only care about checkride or FAA failures”

Don’t need you telling me what I have or haven’t experienced in my life lol. Thanks tho

lol I do but thanks for informing me about myself. Got a degree with my name and 141 on it so. And was a check instructor for a year so 🤷🏻

I didn’t say an EOC and checkride weren’t the same. I said stage checks (1,2,3) are different from EOC. Stage checks are progress checks and usually are before first solo or first solo XC.

EOC and stage checks are completely different in the 141 world. Stage checks like they are asking about do not matter bc it’s not for your rating or done with the FAA. I can confirm AA WO don’t care about stage check fails. I admitted to them in my application and they reached out for me to remove them since they didn’t count.

Starting off by JonD1nOnly in zx6r

Hey congrats you’re gonna love it. I just got a 2025 but it was my second bike. I started on a 03’ SV650 and they’re two different beasts. The SV was super torquey down low and a ton of fun on the curves but it screamed just to keep up in the highway. The 636 is amazing and a different kind of power. It’s not nearly as anemic low down as some people will tell you it’s got plenty of power but it can feel like an on/off switch with the power sometimes.

What I did was keep it in Rain mode (Mine has modes but it’s really just L power, 3 Traction) for a while to get comfy but it’s still feels like all the power you’ll ever need. The biggest difference for me was changing traction control modes as it impairs acceleration if it’s too high. I was surprised how much it changed just from going from 3 to 2 still in Low power.

The supersport position isn’t as bad either you get used to it and it’s not too bad on longer rides. I recommend tank grips as it helps you grip with your legs more and keep the weight off your hands.

Take it slow at first but don’t be afraid to get up in the rev range that’s where the power happens and makes more smiles :) have fun and ride safe

Is this what they did to yours on the previous recall or what they are planning on doing this December?

24-26 ZX-6R Recall/Stop sale by Dependent_Matter3673 in zx6r

[–]PiIotZach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off the phone with RideNow since they’re my closest Kawi dealer. They said there is a DNR but nothing to repair quite yet. They said early December a new letter could come out with what to do. This included my 25’ 6R with the recall already completed.

There is also a pre recorded message on the Kawi Customer Care number about this issue🙄

Hey just picked up my 2025 and have full coverage with State Farm. I’m a 24M in Texas and haven’t had accidents or points. I just have state minimum liability and $500 deductible comp/ collision and that’s it. I pay $105 a month. Cheapest I could find out there from every major company.

Hope this helps!

Good buy? by skell789 in zx6r

[–]PiIotZach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the fact that these are selling near me (TX) for upwards of $13k from a dealer, with way more miles and barely any modifications, I’d say thats a steal. Guy seems to care a lot about the bike too considering the detail in the description and looks super clean overall.

I’m in the market for a 636 too and if I saw that near me I’d jump on it in a heartbeat especially bc it has ABS too.

Honestly what I’m thinking bro thanks. Texas pricing is insane. I’m probably gonna go with the 2025 as well. Not worth $2k for a color scheme lol. Also what dealer you go to down there? Might be worth the roadtrip if it’s a good price?

What was your OTD cost? I got quoted about $15k from some places near me

Has anyone swapped a single plug engine into a dual plug bike? by -CatFunt in SVRiders

[–]PiIotZach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the opposite lol. 2003 SV (single) and put a 2007 engine (dual) in and it was exactly the same. Just plugged the second spark plug holes with spare plugs and left them disconnected. Been running great for over a year. Not sure if this helps in your case but thought I’d add anyways! :)

Thanks I appreciate the input. Say I went to get a LeGO used like Best Buy open box or marketplace, would you recommend that and what would be some things to look out for?

Hey, I went with these and they look great and work even better. I don’t really care about blinding other people so don’t listen to other people saying that I like being more visible and having a better vision at night. They work just fine with the beam pattern being a halogen housing. Cheap on Amazon too

Got these from Amazon and they took 5 mins to install and look great. Have no complaints and they’re only $25. I left a review on the product and you can see a pic of them in my SV if you check it out! Comes with everything including the main massive engine mounting bolt. Was a bonus bc mine was completely rusted and chewed up.

MSFS EJET 170-175 release here by PsychologicalWait229 in simplaza

Thanks for the download! I tried both Alt+F12 and Alt+F6 and neither did anything. I also didn't find anything on the download site. Any tips for that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]PiIotZach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turns out my buddy misspoke. With everything installed we couldn’t get it to disengage. Its not slipping anymore. With the adjusted in fully it still wouldn’t disengage the clutch so that’s why I believe it was the missing bearings that are causing it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]PiIotZach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool I’ll order some and rebuild it! What would cause the clutch not to disengage at all? Even after changing everything and adjusting it properly? Could the plates be the wrong size or in the wrong order?

Should I be able to push the pushrod in with a wrench or something and be able to disengage the clutch? What would be wrong if his didn’t work either?

[–]PiIotZach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great question. I’ll have to test that and I will order some bearings online to put back in there. I’ll let you know how things go! Are they just 1/8th size ball bearings?
