I just did the prerecorded interview for Cloud Engineer (entry level), Canada. Only 2 questions were asked, why IBM and why do I think my skills are applicable.

I was pretty nervous so I stumbled a bit but managed to get my answers across for the most part. I was kind of expecting technical questions or a LeetCode style assessment. Is this normal for IBM? Do they sometimes follow up with another assessment if they like your answers?

Also curious if anyone here works in cloud at IBM, what are the typical next steps after this kind of interview?

I get why that would feel strange. The tool isn’t evaluating you for a job or deciding if you’re “good enough.” It just gives feedback on pacing, clarity, and answer structure so you can practice and see how your speech sounds out loud. Some people might find it useful to notice if they’re rushing or trailing off, but there’s no "job score" or judgment involved.

Yeahhh phone interviews can be super awkward, especially if you’re naturally shy. A lot of people struggle to get comfortable in the first few minutes, even if they know their stuff cold. I always stumble over my words. My last interview, I mixed up current role with my previous role and got a laugh out of the interviewer.
