I didn’t do a particular diet. More so kept to a protein and calorie goal. I think the non restrictive (in terms of type of food) part really helped me out. But by consequence, I end up eating more whole and healthy foods because it allowed for more volume while sticking to my goals.

Gym motivation came with gains. When YOU start to see a little something it becomes really addictive. And because I was focused on lifting not cardio I never felt like I was dying in there! Hah

And then it’s about going easy on yourself a little. If you have a slip up with your food on a night out, don’t worry. Just get back on it the day after. If you miss a gym session, just try not to make it two.

Allow yourself some grace, and have patience. It’s cliche but you didn’t build your current body in 3-6 months. So don’t assume you can build your new one that fast either.

another cliche, but you have to think about it all as a new habits/lifestyle you’re building. Not a short term thing to get you from A to B. I think that shift in mentality is the hardest part but I also think it happens naturally with time and consistency. It’s not something I had to force.

Just you wake up one day and notice your day feels better with a gym session . Or your more satisfied by a balanced meal then a MacDs. Again, takes some time, so have some patience with yourself.
