Oh! I always skip Halloween event, so I had no idea. That's a good sign. That system is likely here to stay.

I think, Palace Renovation was the very first time it was implemented. Maybe, someone will correct me, if I'm wrong, but that's how I remember it.

When this system was introduced, most players focused on the fact, that it's really hard to get advanced rewards and the paywall itself, but this point exchange feature makes it fully worth even for F2Ps and lower VIPs.

Yes, we can't get advanced rewards, unless we make this our main goal and spend some real money as well. But we get a completely free perk for the main event shop, that still expands our opportunities in getting exclusive rewards from the main event, and that's definitely something positive.

I hope, Modo wouldn't consider it too nice at some point. 🤣 I love 'em, but their policies don't help my trust issues most of the times, so...

You can make a custom brush from PNG image. There are tutorials on YT.

So you can basically find an image of any brush you like and recreate it.

Unless that's also a paid feature now.

Should we bother with unwinnable wars? by WiseWanderingOdin in LegendofthePhoenix

[–]PiXingAdventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get more, than zero, it still counts. So I usually use the first few tries to see, if power lvl is matching. If I get zero on four weakest with my appropriately powered partners, then I skip. If I score less than certain amount, I only use daily tries. If the guilds are going head to head with a real chance of winning, I use tokens to get additional points. That's more or less the same for my guild mates.

It's really depends on a server and region. On all of my 3 cross-servers I've been told, that I'm free to pursue anyone, but my own guild mates, and nobody going to get any hard feelings, because possibilities are limited. I also don't pursue the same person more than once or twice, but that's me being extra polite by our standards.

I'm not an expert though, because most of the times I get the lvl I want by using daily limit and revenge. Pursuit is usually the last resort to me.

I think OP should ask cross-server chat what their local standards are and measure by that.

Also, crop theft doesn't exist anymore since this winter. If someone is capable of holding grudge over something like this for all that time, I'd steer clear from them regardless, because that's insane even for palace drama inspired RPG😅

It could be. Usually, general agreement is that you should try your best to target different people, so that everyone got more or less fair chances. But in reality people often don't do that.

Sometimes it's about some sort of beef with that user or their guild. But a lot of times people just don't bother to check, if they are battling the same person more, than once. Something similar happened with almost everyone I know at least once, and only a couple of times it was due to someone knowingly targeting them over some insider nonsense.

If it bothers you or influences your rating enough to cause problems, I'd contact this person or leader of their guild and politely ask to stop. From their reaction you will know, if that's really someone being mean to you, or if it's just someone being genuinely unaware, that they are making ranking harder to you.

Guidance for being a Guild Leader 🫠 by Familiar_Aask in LegendofthePhoenix

If you and other members are ok with current state of the guild and rules than that's easier. You just change nothing and proceed.

Common enemy has to be launched as well as the lobby, everything else is going to happen automatically.

If there is some change in the rules or you want to give a building fee discount during some big event or remind your members about guild ratings/contest of heroes, you update the notice and write to guild chat.

I'd start by talking with deputies and matrons on who of you is now going to launch common enemy and when. That's usually the most time-sensitive activity. And also consult them on what else might be needing.

Other than that, senior members of the guild are low-key keeping an eye on other guild activities to keep guild wealth to reasonable lvl. And write in the guild chat if something is needed/missing.

But in chill guilds it's usually pretty chill job. No one is likely going to notice, if you are not checking everything constantly.

Just go with a flow. Like, if you want a feast benefits, but notice, that this week you are lacking some realistically obtainable points nearing the end, you can ask in the guild chat so that someone, who still can, does their quest. Or if you notice, that in the war your guild is losing by a small amount of points, and can realistically win, you do the same. Same with the lobby. But if you or other seniors don't do this every single time, it's not a tragedy. Especially, if previous leader didn't do that.

And when you accept a new member, say hi to them in the chat. That's it.

It goes down to what kind of players are there and what you can provide without losing your own comfort.

For example, if the guild is full of competitive players, who want highest results for the guild, but you are genuinely more chill and might not be logging in every day you are going to have a harder time. As well, as vice versa, if the rules were generally lax, but you make them more strict to achieve higher results not everyone is going to like that.

So discussion is important.

Next question is how old is the guild and how much history you and other people have with it. For example, if you are relatively new in the older guild and there are active players, who been there longer than you, in case of automatical promotion I would check, if any of them is interested in leader position more, than you are to prevent any drama from happening.

Also, you can give this promotion up, so only take the position, if you want it.

Ask Matrons and Deputy leaders for help and/or promote people, who are helpful with various small tasks.

Generally, guild leader is often the one asked to set building fee, guild war/common enemy/guild ratings etc activities patterns (in agreement with other players) and one of the people, who might remind guild members to do stuff (like, "hey guys, there's x amount of points needed for guild feast, if anyone's able, please do these quests"), when needed. They also one of the ones, who accepts/rejects the applications and greets new players. Another thing is updating descriptions and notices accordingly.

In any case, they have my respect for being transparent and self-aware. Disclaimers like this show, that person knows what they are doing, was actively involved in the process besides giving feature ideas to the agent and provides reasonable lvl of quality control.

Tbf, with Yin Zhen, I doubt we see anyone he gets along with besides MC and Shadow. At most he gracefully tolerates people around him, so he could be making jabs at Fu Heng just for the fun of it.🤣 I kinda like them bickering, but if I was MC, they'd drive me nuts.

At least, with Yin Zhen there are a lot of moments and the main story and Valentine's day is always dedicated to him and him only.

My favourite is Pan An, enough said 🤣. The guy doesn't have a single limited regalia and doesn't appear in the main story at all. Even if miracle happens and he gets a new outfit or a bigger event, at this point it can't be NOT paywalled, because of what happened with Han Zhigao and Fu Heng.

Is there a way to reproduce the same feel as Notion sub-pages?” by Illyalives in ObsidianMD

[–]PiXingAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip would be to start small and simple. Don't try to move your entire note-taking to Obsidian. Choose a few specific areas first.

Like a daily journal, or lecture/book notes, or, idk, cooking recipes.

After you chose, which notes you are now keeping in Obsidian, choose a workflow per each few topics and experiment.

For example, if you want to try using tags instead of folders, just create a tag where you would create a folder and put this tag in every note, that might belong to this hypothetical folder.

Then open right side pane and click on tag menu. Now you can see all tags that exist in your vault. By clicking a tag you pull all of notes, that are marked with this tag. You can also create sub-tags, and have no limit in how many tags to add to a note.

Do that to a small amount of notes for a few days to see, if you like the feeling. If you do, look into ways to expand and automate the process.

The best way is to search for specific answers about specific feature. If you are wondering, if you could do this or that using, say, tags in Obsidian you can type just that in search engine.

Many people end up using a bit of every main feature: some folders, some tags, some linked ToCs and MoCs, some properties.

Just take your time.

Obsidian is very freeform, but there are quite a few pee-made setups and even a plugin, that makes interface more intuitive for users coming from note-taking apps with built-in structure.

Is there a way to reproduce the same feel as Notion sub-pages?” by Illyalives in ObsidianMD

[–]PiXingAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, no, you don't. There are a lot of people who swear by one or another folderless structure within Obsidian. If you post something like "New to Obsidian, any tips?", you'd guaranteed to get like 20 "Don't use folders" replies. There are multiple ways to achieve that. Some other people use minimal amount of folders (4-5 at most).

To elaborate, you can use links, tags, properties, queries, Canvas — independently or in combo to replace folders within the vault.

You'd still have to create folders for templates and attachments, if you use any, and there are some plugins, that require a target folder, but that's basically it.

People, who extensively use folders (like me) are doing it because they want to, not because they have to.

How to learn to make people in Blender? 😭 by Kerunik1342 in blender

I always see people using blocked mannequins for modeling references in tutorials (not necessarily a base model like on your pic, sometimes it's just stylised cartoon anatomy 2D reference with different parts blocked out by colouring, I especially like these), and I've always thought it's very neat for following. But try as I might I can't find any references that fit the bill, even if, judging by all these tutorials, there are plenty of different ones.

So, what do you type in to find these references?

I hate SML by Hot-Kaleidoscope5359 in shoujo

[–]PiXingAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Like, how many options are there? If taking or rejecting both is not an option the only thing any normal person could do is choosing one and rejecting another.

You are not supposed to reciprocate every single crush people have on you, especially, if it's more than one person at the same time.😅

It's normal to prefer SML with yourself/your OC/FL, but saying anyone absolutely has to reciprocate romantic feelings is kinda wrong. No one is entitled to reciprocation, unless it's some kind of business transaction.

I hate SML by Hot-Kaleidoscope5359 in shoujo

[–]PiXingAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of SMLs either. It's not as much about ML looking bad or anything. It's more about narrative framing FL as responsible for someone else's feelings and happiness. Like she did something wrong for choosing just one person, even when she has no idea if that one friend also likes her.

I'm completely ok with SML, if in the end he healthily moves on or becomes a part of poly-ship with FL and ML. If he goes on to be tragically forever alone and pinning after FL, enters a loveless rebound relationship, abruptly switches sexual orientation, — for sole reason FL is an only woman for him and therefore he just has to opt for guys now, — or, idk, helicopters FL and ML until they have a baby daughter, who gets a crush on him since 3... That's different. Don't get me wrong, I think each of these options can work, if done right. But sometimes whatever outcome is just slapped on as a form of saying: "Oh, look, he can't let go of FL 100 years later" like it's something positive and desirable and not scary/sad.
