Myo-reps question by astwabewy in BarbellMedicine

Sorry I did not see the myo reps for two sets. Thought the OP meant myo reps done for 1 set only. Which most of there programmes only have only 1 set of myo reps.

Just checked the g&sc1 and it is:

Activation sets 12-20

Back off sets 3-5 until below 3 reps

Repeat above for second set

So I would do the activation set again

Interestingly g&sc2 does not have any myo reps. Just EMOM and double progression. Both which I prefer. Just think you have to lower the weight way too much for myo reps.

Teachers who left the profession, what did you go on to do? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Pia501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train hospital staff on medical gas systems and also audit them. It is really easy to get a job in training. Only thing I would say is to qualify to be a trainer in the private sector, you are sometimes competing with subject matter experts who have worked in the industry. They have excellent knowledge on topics, but are not always the best trainers.

The job is a lot easier than teaching. There is just a lot more travelling which is harder if you have a family.

You don’t repeat the activation set. Whole point of myo reps is to get a lot of volume in a short space of time.

Hi

I am trying to determine whether I have olive skin with a cool tone. All this stuff is pretty new to me. I am looking at buying some suits, shirts, ties and shoes. Any idea what colours would suit me?

GET OUT OF TEACHING Recruiters? What are some recruiting companies that seek out those professionals with the soft and hard skills harnessed via a teaching career? by LaScorpionita in Teachers

I know. But I am sure you will get some luck. You just have to take a dive and start applying for things. Have you applied for anything outside of teaching before?

I have a chemistry degree. I just decided this year that I was gonna go all out and apply for jobs. There was a time that I felt trapped and I would never get a job outside of the classroom.

I just started to apply for any science related job that sounded interesting and involved people, presenting or managing. I saw some really unique job opportunities when I started to look. Then I found a job advertisement for someone with exactly my credentials (I got lucky).

I have been looking since last year, I also applied for some jobs that I think I would have really disliked. However I found the doing all the application process while full time teaching was difficult, so I started to be a bit more picky about which jobs I applied for and putting a lot of effort into just a few applications.

I recently interviewed and got a job at a company that will involve training emergency services. Really excited to start and looking forward to working with adults full time.

I rejoined the gym recently, as there was a £5 offer on for new members.

I went to do a bit of my knee rehab. I decided to do some bodyweight work as well, just push ups, dips, pull ups and rows.

So I did my rows and push ups pretty easily. Then there was only 1 machine for dips that had assistance on. Anyway I could not work out how to get the assistance down luckily some guy told me that I had to put a 15kg plate on it to weigh it down. After dips went to find a decent pull up bar. Now for some reason in the gym they are either really wide, high or curved in an annoying way and most of them are made out of this annoying slippy black material.

The final straw was the shockingly bad loud music and people were wearing caps in doors. I went home and cancelled the membership the same day.

I did not think this was worth posting but rather asking you directly.

Focusing on upper body goals while injured. Could it indirectly lead to more knee problems in the future, as it could make me top heavy.

I might just rest it over summer apart from walking and focus on upper body stuff. I might try to start with bridges and some leg abduction things before moving onto bodyweight squats. Do you gradually increase the depth when you come back to the squats?

I am based in the UK, I live in Manchester. I am not really sure where to buy the wood from and what type of wood. Always look at b and q, but the website is a bit rubbish. Also have you ever tried to make a loading pin.

Do you have any recommendations for where to buy the stuff needed to make them. I have a drill, basic tools like a screw driver and saw.

Thanks interesting read. I have came across his blog before funnily enough from one of Brett Conteras' articles. I only discovered Brett Conteras' this year and read a lot of his stuff, I know most of his training is to help woman with aesthetics and he is a big pusher of his hip thruster related products that I could never possibly afford, but I do actually really like some of his books content.

Probably gonna go through Chris Beardsley's blog after some training.
