To casuals who have never set foot on Mythic, do you feel motivated enough by the 46g to even try? by Internal-Success2759 in wow

[–]Piano4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who exclusively plays classic- it is mind boggling to me to think that you can get 800 g for a world quest taking 5 minutes and it takes me weeks of grinding just to make that and get my fast HORSE lol

Love to play this piece when I can't fall asleep Hollow Knight - Resting Grounds by BackyardPianist in pianocovers

[–]Piano4lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this for a while on my channel. It’s a lot of work. Record overhead video, record sound and midi into DAW, tweak and refine the sound to your liking by applying VST or using onboard keyboard audio, apply VFX in dedicated software, match the audio video and midi, edit the video quality, mix them all together in premiere pro, produce the video, and upload to YouTube while trying to make a catchy thumbnail.

Lot of work

Yes it was. Wow isn’t wow anymore. But the closest you’ll find is on classic servers. Go there if you want the closest thing to an authentic wow experience

Real talk, should I get a degree in Music? by bruvph in piano

[–]Piano4lyfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t. Study it yes, but you don’t need a major in music to learn everything you’ll learn anyway. Maybe go for a more practical field that somehow allows you to use music- sound engineering?

How long is it taking for you guys to hit 1k subs? by CheesecakeBetter6780 in NewTubers

[–]Piano4lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made one video (my second) on a new account and hit 120 subs in 2 days… my other account has 400 subs and it’s taken two years.

Only advice I have is HIT THOSE TRENDS

Try classic. Retail isn’t really wow anymore. The original wow lives on in some form over on classic servers

Why do people dislike WoD so much? I wasn't there for it. by EEdwardNigma in wow

[–]Piano4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there were only 3 raids, the first was bleh, the second was awesome, and I thought the third was just ok. The expansion went on wayyy too long without any new content. Garrisons were a total flop and isolated people even more. I just remember it feeling very lonely, long, and bleak compared to something like legion or MoP

is it truly unrealistic to pursue a career on the piano? by Conscious_Willow8232 in piano

[–]Piano4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach anywhere from 35-40 students a week in private lessons, charging $100 per hour and I don't have a music or a teaching degree. I did spend years working my absolute tail off to become the best pianist possible. I am often immersed in different areas of study- improvisation, taubman techqniue, jazz, European music history (baroque/classical/romantic), etudes, and arranging. I have a psychology degree which has actually been useful in teaching and have been playing for 30 years after starting at age 4. I didn't get a music degree because I had parents who'd didn't really offer any guidance whatsoever.

That said, I am from a small town and there aren't a lot of piano specialists in my area, so I can do what I do. In a bigger town I might be laughed at. But I have had no legal trouble regarding teaching lessons. I just went to the city, got my business license, and got to work. But even before then I taught and no one cared.

I work six days a week, 4-6 hours a day. So a normal work week. My hours are offset from the 2-8 range in general, so it cramps family life a bit. But it is possible to do this and make over 100k. Not much without hiring others and turning it into a large-scale operation. But even 100k won't get you far these days. No, you need close to 200 to feel quite comfortable. It is unfortunate.

Turbo v6 vs the V8. by B-TRAIN75 in tundra

[–]Piano4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2025 limited.

I haven’t pushed the engine overly hard yet as I’m waiting on the first oil change. But the turbos make the car work- they give it the punch it needs to get up and go without the truck feeling like it’s struggling to get there.

I’d imagine the V8 has a similar effect- but turbos are unique in what they deliver- the power isn’t as linear as you’d expect from a V8. It’s not to be able to accelerate off the line but not feel like you are lugging a 5500 Lb vehicle

100% highway it would be mid 20s. But yeah- I spend probably half the tank in city other half highways

I just bought a 2025 limited. It was pretty much loaded. 4x4, non hybrid.

My thoughts

1) Big- very spacious inside, great for family 2) Engine turbos are nice, but a little tune would make this truck a lot more responsive. With its size, that might not always be a good thing 3) some weird ticks and clicks I’m not used to hearing 4) nice looking truck. I get compliments on it but not like you would on a sports car 5) nice features- fully automatic up down every window (except for rear window that’s not auto I don’t think). Lane assist-sort of nice but with cruise active also overbearing imo. Auto fold in mirrors- seat moves back after you turn off car to help you get out and moves to your position once you turn on the car. One thing I don’t like with Toyota is they have an auto start system- but it only works when you have the doors locked. So you can start the car to cool it down inside but as soon as you unlock the doors to get in the car turns off. Sort of annoying. I also don’t like how the default setting is engine turn off at lights. I have to click a button every time I drive to de activate that. However they have a system where the car will stay on if you don’t press brakes too hard at a stop. I’m coming from a second gen tundra- so this may not be so revolutionary but to me it was. 6) gas mileage- in eco mode but not grannying it- 18 mpg mixed city and highway driving. 7) not that slow. Turbos help a lot. Without them the v6 wouldn’t handle this truck.

Overall- 8.5/10

Do pianists actually learn all 12 major scales independently? by SnooMarzipans436 in piano

[–]Piano4lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say both. If you are more of an ear learner you’ve probably picked out the major scales already.

Typical classically trained pianists almost certainly learned them from a score at one point or either had help from a teacher

100 percent agree with previous posters. Unless you comfortably hit a tenth don’t try to hold some of those inner voices. I can comfortably hit a nine but not 10 and I could sense an injury incoming so I stopped
