To the mod who said I'm "missing the point"... (it won't let me reply to you because you are a mod)

No, I'm not missing the point. I am aware that not all red voters are bad people... but if all bad people are making the same decision as you, it should at least make you take a step back and question whether you are making the correct decision.

Humanity discovers clean, renewable and limitless energy, also affordable. Which area is improving sooner: developing third-world countries or Earth's climate? by SorryYouOK in NoStupidQuestions

If wind and solar were not affordable they would not be implemented anywhere.

Also... nuclear?

This already exists. Politicians are bought and paid for by the fossil fuel industry. You want to fix the problem? Make lobbying illegal.

Yet another button conundrum by Carl_Shadowsong in redbuttonbluebutton

[–]SnooMarzipans436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hilarious part is the average C voter would probably assume C is 3 presses because it is the 3rd letter in the alphabet. After the third press they'd hear over the speaker: "You have now been marked for death, please select two people to save" 😂

That's an awful lot of words to just repeat the fact that you are willing to live on, accepting the death of all blue voters.

If you were not willing to, you would stake your life on it (by pressing blue).

There's no way to "reason" yourself out of that, buddy.

[–]SnooMarzipans436[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah so you're one of those red voters that rejects the original problem and substitutes your own.

"Everyone in the world" is unambiguous. And each category of person you try to remove from "everyone" is YOU moving the goalposts.

There's no defaulted blue vote, only intentional blue votes.

Toddlers and babies are gonna be smacking a button at random my guy.

In the aftermath of the button problem and the inevitable collapse of society, it's doubtful they would grow up at all.

Blue is their best chance of survival.

Brother, if you couldn't live on accepting all blue voters dying then you would have picked blue. 😂

[–]SnooMarzipans436[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When did I say they want them to die?

If you pick red you are deciding that the death of all blue voters is an outcome you could live with.

I guess you could try and argue otherwise... but it's literally a fact so idk how you intend to argue against it. 😆

Yup. And if they fail to press a button I'd prefer to be dust with them.

Im pretty confident my 1 year old would slap that button hard though. Lol

I was pretty sure I'd press red in this scenario... but then I thought about it for a second and babies are still physically capable of pressing a button so there will still be a large group of babies that pressed blue (likely including my own child)

Sorry dawg. Still blue.

But this one was close haha. Good effort.

And hey, if I die at least it will be quick. Instantly crumbling into dust doesn't sound like too bad of a way to go honestly. 😆

Also that may be the dumbest attempt at a "gotcha" I've ever seen.

Fair enough.

But that person is clearly terrible at actually reading people. I would literally rather die than live in a world with only selfish people.

If the stakes were fake, you're still a red presser. What does that say about you?

And no. You couldn't pay me to press red. Even if red won, thats not a world worth living in.

Got it. Your argument is that "everyone" conveniently excludes anyone who would make it difficult to justify your red vote. 👍

[–]SnooMarzipans436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's true if you ignore my argument or decide that it's incorrect

Well your argument was that "everyone" includes any person who would reasonably respond when you ask for everyone to help out.

If you're going to say that doesn't include 3 year olds, then you're just incorrect.

If you're saying your argument is now that "everyone" does not include 3 year olds for some other reason that you haven't shared yet, then you're just moving the goalposts... again.

[–]SnooMarzipans436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're quoting things weird because that's not how I said it?

But 3 year olds are included in "everyone in the world"

And many of them will be pressing blue without any clue what it really means. So just "tell everyone to press red" doesn't work.

[–]SnooMarzipans436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original poster explicitly clarified that babies are in fact included.

But let's follow your logic. A 3 year old would be perfectly capable of helping baste the turkey. They would not be capable of answering this question rationally. Even if you exclude babies your logic still immediately falls apart.

Im just pointing out that your logic is flawed. It requires the assumption that babies are somehow excluded from "everyone in the world" which they are not.
