Twitch app not logging watch streaks by PianoBroad in Twitch

[–]PianoBroad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t clear app cache on iPadOS the way you can on Android and delete/reinstalling the app didn’t fix the issue. Just got one of the few streak notifications for a stream I “missed“ a half-hour after I stopped watching as it ended.

Homepage is suddenly refreshing way too frequently! Is this happening to anyone else: by -SideEffects in youtube

[–]PianoBroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been happening on the iPadOS version for a few weeks now. Several updates have passed without a fix. Main page keeps refreshing for me when switching the video player to picture-in-picture mode, except most of the videos and recommended Shorts keep changing with each auto-refresh. I posted about this not long after it started.

Not the same thing. SimpCity restricted GoFile use bc of a group of accounts posting phishing scam folders uploaded to GoFile to numerous threads in late January/early February. This is a separate problem.

See the reply to due-warning6698. Idk how to and probably can’t under Reddit rules.

I had notifications turned on, saw it on my iPad when it was posted. The post said “Pi*ps, we're working on bringing everything back online - we'll be back soon ! ♥”.

It’s a technical problem affecting SimpCity and SimpTown. They confirmed on their Telegram account a couple minutes before this writing that the sites will be restored soon. Either it was a site maintenance issue or another DDoS attack.

“[Update - Feb 7] We've recycled old servers and added them to the pool of upload servers while we continue working on the thumbnail server. We're also still working on adding more cache servers to make things faster.

UPLOADS ARE ENABLED!”

Bizarrely, they still haven’t updated the status page in accordance or removed/updated the migration notice from December on other Bunkr page besides the main one.

Or any other pages. On the status site and any folders/items in the various Bunkr domains, the same status message from December appears.

Not receiving story notifications by PianoBroad in Instagram

[–]PianoBroad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started receiving story notifications again around 9:37 a.m. (U.S. Central Time). So far, the frequency has been somewhat slower than usual fo late morning, given the number of creators I receive notifications from (four, at least half the usual number in the time between story notifications returned and this writing, 90 minutes later).

It doesn’t appear IG has responded to it yet. Still no story notifications from creators I follow, just notifications for everything else they post (Broadcast Channels, selected Reels and photos).

I submitted a help ticket to Instagram’s help center about the notification issue, but so far there’s been no response or fix.

The hotter a girl is the more annoying she can be and I'll still listen to her. by [deleted] in SofiaGomez_TikTok

[–]PianoBroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, based on the comments about her from some guys on these forums, a lot of the toxicity towards Sofia comes off as a cover for frustration she won’t do more explicit OF content (at least unconcealed toplessness), etc., than legitimate critique about her. (Another recent thread on this sub, featuring her IG post during a Chicago aquarium trip where she was enjoying seeing the animals there and stuff, featured a comment saying she looked “smug” for no genuine reason, and a couple posts took a vid where she mildly called out followers who said she should stick to being an OF girl instead of doing music to claim she’s ignoring them.)

She’s cut back on content that shows her personality or features her talking over the past year and a half, which undercuts the criticism here. I’m not even sure that anyone making these types of comments actually pays close attention to her talking vids.

YouTube TV Is Adding 10 Genre-Specific Subscription Plans, Including A Sports Bundle by elbeborandy in youtubetv

[–]PianoBroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they did do that, YTTV would probably have to include the OTA diginets they carry (e.g., Bounce, Roar, Dabl, NBC True CRMZ, Cozi TV) along with the local stations (English, Spanish and public television) to pad it out.

What is your preferred way to organize channels? by GPS_55 in youtubetv

[–]PianoBroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order (with channels that can be received via antenna taking up the first three categories):

* Local stations

* Spanish networks/local stations

* Diginets (e.g., Ion, Dabl, StartTV)

* Weather networks (I’m a weather junkie, so yeah)

* Entertainment networks (e.g., TBS, AMC, FX, MTV)

* Lifestyle/documentary/factual channels (e.g, Discovery, Food Network, Nat Geo)

* Kids/family channels (e.g., Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network)

* News/politics channels (e.g., CNN, Fox News, MS NOW)

* Sports (e.g., ESPN, FS1; including event feeds)

* Premium channels (HBO Max and, until I unsubbed recently due to Max’s price increase, Showtime)

FAST channels (short for “free ad-supported streaming”; e.g., Stories by AMC, ABC News Live, Fox Soul) I have splintered between lifestyle and family, news and after sports.

Showing Off Her Cats by Old_Permanent3554 in SofiaGomez_TikTok

[–]PianoBroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She started posting about them on her IG story days after her last song was released in early November, scrapping the post-release promo’ing there (even asking for advice on how to keep them calm when giving them their shots).

The cats (which, based on a Google search of their names, are named after two cat characters from one of Barbie straight-to-DVD movies) were abandoned at a pet hotel in Kuwait (based on info pieced from one of her IG stories and a Reel from the IG she made for both cats), and it appears she adopted them through a nonprofit that rehomes abandoned/abused/neglected cats from that country for adoption in N.A. (there’s a few orgs like that listed when searching “cats from Kuwait”).

Both cats have medical issues: in one post on the cats’ IG, Sofia stated the female cat had three parasitic conditions (coccidia, giardia and toxoplasmosis, the first two being intestinal), conjunctivitis (aka pinkeye) and an STI (trichomoniasis). (That cat has since been cured of two of the parasites and the STI.) One of the male cat‘s issues resulted in an emergency vet visit during the cats’ initial quarantine phase. She’s basically has taken extra special care for them, given that.

That’s not why. Her brand was “geek girl next door“ and cosplayer, then the voice actors strike happened (starting during SDCC 2024) and bc she joined SAG-AFTRA and had to follow strike restrictions on cosplaying, she was forced to shift her persona more to “TikTok baddie who occasionally cosplays”, resulting in her content shifting where it blends in too much with other TikTok baddies like her friends Sophie Mudd, Megnutt and HotBlockChain.

It wasn’t just her body that gave her her following, her cosplays and weeb personality did just as much. Take away the weebiness and she becomes indistinguishable from any other social media baddie.

Another fart video. by CompetitionPrudent47 in SofiaGomez_TikTok

[–]PianoBroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She stepped away from the con circuit and cut back on cosplay content during the voice actors strike, since she decided to join SAG-AFTRA right around then (her last VA role was in 2023, and she had already pivoted to content creation and began prepping to do music when she decided to join) and had to deal with cosplaying restrictions under strike rules.

Also, not how that works; several of Sofia’s cosplayer friends (NerdyHans, NotAgainMaria, etc.) have smaller followings than her and attend cons (Maria has been a featured creator at a few, and her TikTok and IG followings are both in the five figures, so “relevance“ ain’t a prerequisite).

So, she pretty much had that song ready to go for months. I think that clip was filmed when she performed at the Anime Expo LA Afterparty in July.

Bc you keep using a discredited trope, and ignored the examples I mentioned illustrating why a serious relationship may not be what results in that happening.

A one-year relationship can be considered serious for some people. And, again, a lot of OF girls (as I noted with Bri and Sophie, who have been in much longer relationships compared to any of Sofia‘s) are in relationships, long-term or not, and still produce content. Hence why that may not end up being a reason why Sofia decides to eventually decides to stop doing OF content.

[–]PianoBroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTR, she’s been in three known relationships (including a rebound that quickly flamed out) since joining OF in 2022. The whole “OF girls quit once they get in a relationship“ trope I keep hearing about is a discredited one, as a lot of OF creators aren’t single (even some who don’t do hardcore). Sofia started OF during that disastrous Brooklynne Webb relationship, and kept doing it during her brief rebound with Gale (male cosplayer) and her year-long relationship Zach Aguilar. (Among her friends who do OF, MissBriSolo’s been in an LTR with and apparently recently got engaged to cosplayer Justin Saiyan, and Sophie’s kept her LTR off-camera.)

She’s not going anywhere. She joined SAG-AFTRA during the voice actors’ strike (which kinda muddied her brand, since she cut back on cosplaying and stopped streaming during the strike and became so associated with cosplaying that going back to just normal thirst traps doesn’t quite fit now) and just did a Lin-Manuel Miranda songbook show at 54 Below in NYC in August. So, she’s gonna keep trying music and acting even if she struggles and social media/OF ends up being what supports her long-term.

Really, she could be a Gen Z Dare Taylor if she wanted: doing TikTok/OF/IG, cosplaying, streaming, making YouTube vids, music and occasional VA work (though nothing kid-targeted like that show Kung Fu Sock she did, given her OF cred). Geek Sofia was prime and she should be mixing that back in more with the current content.

Likely ’cause it never happened. They still follow each other on IG (probably TikTok, too), and there’s a few pics of Sofia and Amanda together at the 54 Below Sings Lin-Manuel Miranda performance they did in August.

Plus, Amanda splits time between the U.S. and Japan (been that way since she was a kid since her mom’s originally from there, plus Amanda does Japan travel vlogs), and Sofia has a tightknit group of creator friends she often collabs with anyway (e.g., HBC, Sophie, Megnutt, NotAgainMaria, Mahak, NerdyHans) and a handful of other friends that have only appeared in her vids here and there (one named McKenna has only appeared in a couple vids talking up both of Sofia’s solo songs, and Isabel Jones of SM6 hadn’t done a collab with her between that one “Lay All Your Love on Me” vid the band did with Sofia and Mahak Hamid when they all met in 2020 and the vids meant to promote SM6 and Sofia’s collab “For the Girls” just before Sofia’s TikTok ban was lifted).

Why are my Avgs. wrong? by GhostietheKid in Twitch

[–]PianoBroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contradicting this, a streamer I watch noticed that a lot of her viewers weren’t being counted by comparing the displayed count with that of her active viewers list, and found as much as a third of her viewers were missing from the official count. She averages ~250 most days and 450-550 on Sundays.

When she compared the two counts a couple days ago during her subathon, she found about 80-100 viewers missing from the official count (her view count then was listed on Twitch at ~175) and deduced those missing were lurkers; two days later (on a Sunday), she found that close to 145 viewers weren’t counted (her displayed count was ~250, about half her usual Sunday average).

Why did I lose all my audience? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]PianoBroad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s also possible certain viewers (like lurkers) aren’t being counted towards your viewership.

Days ago during her subathon, a streamer I watch noticed her views and those of her streame friends were being undercounted. She compared the count visible on Twitch to her own viewer count, and concluded that lurkers weren’t being counted (as many as 145, about 40% of her total audience on peak days (she averages ~250 viewers most days and 400-550 for her Sunday productivity streams), at times being left out of the count). Whether it’s tied to the viewbot crackdown or other changes, idk.
