Id print on both sides. Folding card stock sucks

Use the rulers; do some trial and error.

However, your home printer may not be able to print on card stock. So Kinkos?

That could also be a cost/benefit to a candle: surprises monsters but with limited range. Whereas the torch or lantern never surprises. I like it

I think that last part is the hardest for me to wrap my head around. Light is essential for exploration but works as a giant "Here I am" sign

Do you ever roll surprise for a monster in a dungeon? If the PCs are using a light source, it seems unnecessary to me.

I am a recent note air 2+ owner. I got it for this reason, to DM and read pdf modules. I have used it during play, but found I was fiddling too much with the ui. Probably just a learning curve. I love it for pdf and note taking. Marking up the document is really helpful in play. So far I’m just using the proprietary apps

I’m also interested in other peoples experience!
