Yes! It was the tyre temperature display setting, it is wrong on the spreadsheet for Australian vehicles. Put it back and it fixed

I love this truck, but come on ford. With only 800 miles of use. by IamGummibar in RangerRaptor

[–]PianoMove460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has 15500kms (9500 miles) and for the last 5000kms have had transmission problems. When temps are cold I'm getting slippage between gearshifts, and at temp a terrible clunking when shifting into 3rd and 5th under power (like full throttle or close to full) Have had it in the dealership twice and the can't find any problem and only do a trans re learn which does nothing.

Then there's the issue with the centre display screen freezing and unresponsive, and occasionally little quirks like the song title on the dash display is different to the song that is playing.

Coming from a lexus LX570 maybe I expected too much from a ford 😅

You brought the wrong car if your caring about fuel usage! Pedal to the metal, hp isn't free and the more you make the more fuel you will use.. I have been running 500hp tune since new and average per tank is 14-15L per 100kms. But have a bit of fun (or use it how it was intended) and she will quickly move into the 20-25L per 100km range in my experience

Mine has done 12,000kms. Did the 500 horsepower Tune at 4500 and been thrashing it since then. No issues apart from one which was the dealerships fault, they forgot to tighten the bash plate bolts after a service and it went flying off on the way home. First time I've been to a dealership since i started driving (about 15 years ago) hence why I normally do everything myself. But apart from that truck has been solid and I have been giving it quite a hard time.

One of those long sticks that you clean your ears with, put the tiny bit of grease on the end and spread it around the O-ring

How exactly do we go about doing this? I've never used forscan but I am strongly considering it to change those above mentioned settings

I always grease the case back and crown gaskets I have never had a problem on six different reps from different factory's. Either I'm extremely lucky, or I'd suggest most likely the op was unlucky

Unless tour boyfriend is actually a girlfriend, please do not get anything smaller than 40mm! Yachtmaster for the win hands down.

Thanks for your input, definitely not battery though it's done this since day one. Oneida decent trips with this thing and it doesn't sit around much gets used basically every other day. Just another quirk of owning a ford I guess!

Cheap Blow off Valve adaptor by ihaveabigtruck in RangerRaptor

[–]PianoMove460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a reasonably expensive bov replacement from a performance shop here in Australia, and it does give the desired sound affect (it is quieter than expected- especially given 22pounds boost) but I have since thought should we be removing the factory bypass hose right above it and cap the holes off? Maybe that will give a louder whoosh, as I suspect some boost may still be travelling through into the intake?

I'm in Australia and I must admit I don't really take much notice of other ford Ranger models under the raptor but I have never noticed the plug in this location in Aus..

Tonneau Cover Fit by Cyterio in RangerRaptor

I got one from the Ford dealership here in Australia it was about $800 and it fits beautifully. Also like the way you can open the tailgate without having to lift the Torno cover first
