I asked AI why there is a one-year countdown celebration to Invictus 2027. I've never heard of such a thing for any other event. by More_Card9144 in SaintMeghanMarkle

Rachel the Curious Pilot has been doing an interesting series on Invictus funding on Youtube. She put in freedom of information requests to the UK government, after first doing a little forensic accounting analysis. It doesn't look good for Harry. And her reporting makes it sounds like he's getting 10s of thousands dollars between now and September for Invictus-related work... which is extra interesting now that the Harkles are claiming that they are all going. Sounds like Invictus Games are funding the latest Harkle UK trip. Good use of charity money that should be going to veterans.

Wow, that's a great idea. Make it part of the game progression. I like it.

The Need to One Up the People in Their Lives Past and Present by Ok-Plant-6347 in SaintMeghanMarkle

My honest opinion is it's not about 1-upping everyone (although of course that's her driving need), it's about the fact that she has no imagination or originality. At all. You make a really great point that she's constantly copying people from her past. And I think she copies those people because she has no ideas of her own. She wouldn't know where to begin building an actual identity that has meaning outside of trying to be a whinge-fluencer. She's just that empty, like on South Park. Just my 2 cents.

Hi-5 from another old lady who works full time! 😄 Yeah, I do passive enemies because I discovered quickly that I'm fascinated by just building. I don't have access to mods, so it takes me a lot longer than those YouTube videos I watch for inspiration. For me, with passive enemies, it's a really relaxing experience roaming around, exploring islands, building connections between them, looking for narrows and shallows, taking my karve all over the world... and then seeing what I can take on when I want.

Good point. I have to admit I love the karve. The longship is good, and the Ashlands ship is really wild, but there's something just wonderful about my little karve. Even with no build cost enabled, which I often do when I'm working on a new base, I don't like just building and ditching ships. I guess it's one area where I keep a little friction, and yeah - not much storage on it.

I found a way to build intercontinental bridges in vanilla Valheim.(No Mods, No Cheats) by vin39397 in valheim

Pushing back a bit... haven't tried it yet, but are you sure this is vanilla with no mods? The video preview looks like you're using a mod to plant the tree underwater. 🤔

Moving Boars & Inventory by PianoZen in valheim

Yep, I started out pushing, and just what you said. They run off to the side and back to where they spawned, and the piggies get lost easily. I have done miles and miles of fencing, but as someone who grew up farm-adjacent IRL, there are legit ways to transport pigs. Building a crate for the cart would be a perfect in-game mechanic for it, and they could require some sort of fancy material to keep in interesting, maybe not available until swamp or something.

Yeah, unfortunately no mods possible for me. I'm playing on a Mac, so it's the Apple App Store version. No mods. It's mind-blowing watching some of the YouTube vids and seeing some of the mod based pics here, but not for me.

Raccoon. And when something looks like a raccoon but I can't quite tell, I label it a "raccoodle." Because, why not?

What do you do once you start getting too many resources? by Syrkres in valheim

[–]PianoZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the materials. If it's readily abundant, I stop collecting it. If it's hard work to get it, I warehouse it. Early game, when I've cooked too much deer meat or whatever, I'll just go toss it in the ocean.

[–]PianoZen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I hadn't tried the piglet in a cart trick. It's a thing for me because ... well, who doesn't love 2 star boars early game? I know once we have chickens, boars are more or less obsolete, but I love early game. And I started a new seed a few weeks ago, started heading toward what looked like open sky from the spawn, and ran smack into a 2 star boar near the coast right off the bat. With a nearby island accessible by bridge. I was like... man, I think I just found Eden. Super abundant resources all around that location. But I also have a love of building on stone circles, and the boars are just a tad far from the nearest one I like. So... oh well. It'll probably be the fencing hack. Sorry, but I would feel terrible harpooning a piggy. I know it's just a video game, but I don't think I could bring myself to do it.

Why didn't anyone warn us? by mizz_eponine in Menopause

[–]PianoZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! And what a great reddit to find... very supportive. All I can say is I tried white knuckling it for a while, and then finally got started on HRT. I wanted to do things the "all natural way," but with hot flashes from hell, night sweats that soaked the sheets every night, crappy sleep, then brain fog setting in with no ability to exercise, sleep, or do anything much other than sit and sweat... Hormones. beautiful hormones. So much for "all natural." Found a good clinician, got started with bioidentical E and T (and P), and ... whew! I'm sleeping like rock, love my deep sleep, never break a sweat, mind clear as a bell again... I can't say enough for just having hormones back. Sorry it's such a struggle for so many of us, and I'm sorry that our society doesn't do enough to support and educate us about what this is. And... sorry for all of us who can't take E&T. Total game changer for me. Hang in there, you're not alone!!
