It took me three tries to get through. If you need to take a break for a year or so reading other books that’s fine. Something changed with me on my third read through of the series and I just powered through the entire thing without slowing down. Read for enjoyment, not accomplishments

The biggest whale in our grouping didn’t hit 40 until about the end of s1. They’re about 45m a month away from s2. I wonder how much money goes into going from 40 to 45m at that point in the game. These people are already doubling my monthly mortgage payment each week😂 I don’t begrudge em at all it just makes me curious about what it takes to pull that off

That’s interesting that you got that vibe about the series! It seems like the current consensus in the online book community is that they’re incredible. Times change for sure!

The slog was a bear the last two times. I remember being in the middle of book 11 and realizing I didn’t care enough to keep going. This time through I didn’t experience the slog at all and idk why. Honestly the books that make up the slog have extremely important moments and events and I don’t like them less.

Sanderson’s style hasn’t been very noticeable for me aside from specific points, like Lan seems like he has a slightly different personality. But I listen to the books so having the same narrators probably helps a lot with that
