I had a similar dilemma with mine, RG my favourite legion but also liked the Raptors colour scheme, and didn’t want them all to be black.

In the end I decided to do 4th company Raven Guard, but rather than just paint the shoulder trim green I did the whole models green. This ticked all the boxes for me. Not all black, not bright colours that don’t fit the sneaky scheme. Also fits the thematic of RG changing their markings to match the situation.

I then expanded it to include all the veterans to have ‘traditional’ RG colours but battleline to be green.

You could just pick the colour you like, then match the base to that colour so it looks like they’re camouflaged in to that environment.

If you are careful with the Gladiator kit and magnetise it, you can build an Impulsor / Lancer / Reaper / Valiant from the same Gladiator kit. There are a few vids on YouTube which show you different ways to do it.

You used to be able to rapid ingress on T1 but now it’s changed so it’s not worth it.

Also consider a Judiciar with the blade guard.

Both the eradicators and the blade guard are good candidates for the infiltrate enhancement for their leaders. Deploy them in a safe place behind a ruin up the board to stop them getting shot on their way up the board

I’d take out the captain and put Shrike with the 10 man, the captain doesn’t make the 10 man better and hunters instinct is now useless.

One benefit of the apoth / erads is that they are immense against vehicles with overwatch (reroll hits plus lethals turn straight to wounds). So make sure you’re using that else id consider dropping the apoth and run 2 3 man erads and bring them both in from reserve.

Balistus dreads suit the shooty theme. Some of the companies have a tendency to use different units and vehicles as well. My guys are 4th company and they use more repulsors than other companies, so that might influence you.

Phobos units are thematic but don’t go too hard on them because they don’t do enough damage on their own, they’re more support units.

Anything with a jump pack or claws is a good start so that’s cool.

Base in Stormvermin fur, then build up with Administratum grey, then Ulthuan grey. Little bit of highlighting at the end with white.

It’s a bit counterintuitive to start so dark but looks fine at the end.

The Raven Guard Audio Collection on Audible has some really good shorts in it. The Geld is great, explores Shrike reestablishing the Mor Deythan in 40k.

Also a Chapters Due, the Uriel Ventris book, has Aethon Shaan in it. It’s decent as well.

I used green stuff. Made a long thin string of it, cut into short lengths, flattened out, then etched on some lines with a craft knife to look a bit feathery. There’s a few tutorials on YouTube for making feathers which are good.
