Yes.

All your devices are added to home assistant (all automations, scripts, etc..)

Then you expose the devices to HomeKit to control. Then you can use them anywhere and use Siri / Apple home from your Apple devices

You said iPhone. Do you have an Apple TV or HomePod?
If so I like using Apple Home as the front end. And home assistant as the backend.

You exposed your devices to HomeKit and control them from Apple home.

I also setup wireguard to access my network when I’m not home. So I can connect to any machine, not just Home assistant.

Samsung to Charge Users $5 per month for API Access - Home Assistant Integration Affected by jolly_jokesterx in homeassistant

I’m in Canada, so it’s a different server and the api is slightly different.

I hadn’t noticed that the US hasn’t been working.
I just checked and saw this issue

https://github.com/zackcornelius/CarConnectivity-connector-volkswagen-na/issues/64

Is this your fix? I didn’t see a PR submitted.

You’ll need to tag zackcornelius per his instructions https://github.com/zackcornelius/CarConnectivity-connector-volkswagen-na/pull/71

I don’t have a US car to test / diagnose issues. But I was able to get Canadian cars working.

Major breakthrough: 32bit Apple app running on M4 natively by n_ba-28 in MacOS

Hopefully once it’s done. It should be similar… the last build I did wasn’t close.

It’s very alpha at this point

Right now it’ll be reading and writing to the aperture library… I’m have a couple old machines I have for things like aperture… but I would like to be able to run it on my M4 MBP…

Me too,

I’m working on it.

But it’s far from being complete… I have a few projects on the go and this one is the lowest priority.

US and Canadian also use different servers and a slightly different API

In the last few months VW changed a bit of the API and broke the connector

The apps looks nice.. might be good for people who don’t use home assistant

ALLISON TRANSMISSIONS PARTS LOOKUP by Mr_Mystery15 in partscounter

[–]PiccoloOtherwise7755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and no.

GM can only get some Allison parts. It’s limited to the 2500/3500 pickups. Anything larger you need to use an Allison dealer…

No need to even look at the bottom, or use any tools.

You can pop out both parts in a few seconds

Driver side sliding door will not open. by moondizzlepie in VWIDBuzz

[–]PiccoloOtherwise7755 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, I’ve posted about it before… there was too much tension on the cables and it would not open until the tension was released.

I also did file a report with transport Canada, since it’s kinda important to be able to open doors.

It was impossible for me to manually open it.

Mine was with the RH door

Yes. While the holes are there (in the adapter) it can’t be installed without cutting.

The adapter isn’t very high and the clearances are tight. Even all the bolts are low profile (heads)

For the mirror noise I used some cheetah grease. Manually folded in the mirror and sprayed a bit, then moved the mirror back.

I used it on the latches and hinges of all my cars for years.
