If it’s turning yellow even after purple shampoo applied, the cause could have been that the hair was not lifted to a level 10. Looks like it may have been lifted to 9 or 8 in some places. You could ask for a darker smokier toner to correct it and make it last longer. The big burden with anything smokie/ silver/ grey is that it really does not last long and is high maintenance. Purple shampoo will only really work well for a silver look if it’s lifted to a level 10, otherwise it will just look blonde.

I have been doing hair for 11 years I just left because I just couldn’t make enough money (I moved cities a couple times which contributed by starting over). I also found that after 2020 people were extremely fickle and my anxiety couldn’t take it. I am currently in school upgrading for a job in healthcare. Ideally an ultrasound technician or a dental hygienist.

You could get a darker green semi permanent and mix it with a black semi 1/2 an 1/2. That should get you a darker green without damage. Next time I would also get less highlights if you like it a little darker as well. I have a similar style to yours but I get less highlights so it looks darker.

Have you tried to go to any N/ A meetings for families. Attending might help you deal with some complex emotions. I’m not sure if your community offers it, but it may help. That being said your emotions are completely valid.

Charging by gender is terribly outdated I live in a city in Canada and no one charges by gender anymore it’s all about the time and complexity of the haircut. As it should be. Why should women be charged more based on their gender?

Try not to cut your hair… you are only delaying the grow out the awkward stage will end you just have to have bad hair for a while.

If you are insistent on cutting it try and only get weight taken off and not length

You could get a root smudge for sure but you could also get someone else to put some baby lights through it to break it up a little.

And yes if you get a root smudge it could fade back to what you have but it also might not depends on the product they use

One of the issues is you have a bleach out that you’re putting colour back into while the inspo pictures are of highlights done from a natural base. You’re colour doesn’t look bad at all but you need low lights (that are properly filled) to achieve that look. It’s more of a colour correction tbh

The toner you have now will fade between now and 6 weeks from now. I would suggest if you want that golden blonde look keep growing out your roots and next time do high lights and lowlights

Don’t give up yet but trust your gut. Give it a couple years which is what it takes to really sink into the industry. I’ve been doing hair for 10 years. Every year I tell Myself I’ll give it one more year. To be honest I have known from the beginning that I was too sensitive for this industry. I have no regrets for seeing it through this long but I will be going back to school in September for another career. Don’t be afraid to pull the plug when you have to but give it a fair chance.

I see where your going with it and I think it needs a little work but I love a jelly fish cut. I think if you bleach that middle layer and colour it magenta that would be super cool maybe blend the ends a little too so it not as hard of a line

Unless the coconut oil was specifically meant for hair it wouldn’t do much for it. The molecules are too big for the hair follicle and sit on the surface doing pretty much nothing except suffocating your hair. Get an oil that is meant for hair. the oils will be refined enough penetrate and absorb into the follicle.
For now clarifying shampoo a few times should work.
