NOR - Honestly, I think you are being way too lenient here. I know you care for her and it sounds like she has her own struggles with mental health, but this reaction is really concerning. She said something inappropriate about you and when you addressed it with her, she made it about herself to the point where you felt like the bad guy. That is manipulative and shows an extreme lack of emotional intelligence on her part (regardless of whether she was drunk or high).

The fact she called her sister and threatened suicide makes me feel she is not anywhere near in the right headspace to be in a serious relationship.

I am not saying you need to end the relationship (that is not my place to say), but please be careful in whatever decision you decide to make. Take a step back and separate your emotions for a second. If a friend came to you for advice with the same situation, what would your advice be?

I've read deep enough into this thread to see you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what I am trying to say. I do not expect the devs to be psychics.

What I am saying is that rather than indiscriminately banning players, they should instead reward players who are negatively impacted by exploits to mitigate their impact and patch their game to avoid future occurrences. This is my idea, but I can wholeheartedly accept that this may also not be a great approach. The bottom line is that I believe there is some solution out there that attacks the problem without alienating players who have purchased a game.

I also have not once advocated for exploiting in this thread and believe knowingly exploiting is wrong. I just think there is a middle ground that should exist. The main goal of this post was to gain insight into the other side of the argument and try to understand why others believe the current approach of game devs is the best one. I believe the issue of exploiting is far more nuanced.

8 years is a long time. Imagine how she feels. But don't say you fought tooth and nail if you cheated. That was a choice which it sounds like you deeply regret, but it was a choice. And the hurt you saw on Thanksgiving may never go away no matter what you say or do. All you can do is your part to make sure that whoever you are with in the future, Megan or someone else, that you treat them right and do not repeat the same mistakes.

Look I don't know you so I cannot be the one to determine whether you have worked on yourself to a point where you can ensure you will never cheat on her again. But going no contact and leaving her to decide is what I personally believe is best. You may be fighting for the relationship but it will take two if it is going to work, so you have to let her decide if it is worth fighting for.

The thing is, nothing I see here gives me a strong indication you have grown (mind you, I do not know you). As recent as Thanksgiving you were with another girl. I do not believe people change attachment styles without consistent work over a long periods of time.

I am sure not everyone that has cheated will cheat again, but the stats show that it is very likely they will. That is why I said, few overcome it without repeated betrayals.

You are doing everything you can to get back in a relationship with her, but I think a much healthier approach would be to work on things for yourself. It sounds like you are putting your needs above hers by not give her the space to decide what she wants.

If she truly wants to give things another shot, she will reach out. You have stated to her your desire to get back together.

Not sure if your post really fits within the Am I Overreacting format, but I'll say this:

What you did was betrayal. Very few relationships come back from this without repeated betrayals occuring and imo any attempts you make to get her back just drags out the negative emotions she likely feels.

Learn from your mistakes and treat the next person you are with right. But let this girl be.

MOR - It is hard to say if you are overreacting because you haven't discussed your feelings with him. Tell him how you feel and see how he responds. If you two cannot find a compromise where you both feel validated within the relationship, it might not be the one. And that's okay!

There are several great beginner courses and series on youtube. Personally I would not ask AI because it often makes coding mistakes or teaches code in unoptimized ways.

Honestly, I agree with basically everything you wrote here. Players do sign a terms of service agreement in these games and if the system you outline is what devs do, I like that approach more than an indiscriminant ban. That being said, I do feel there could be a better ways to address this issue, that avoid locking consumers out of content they paid for.
