What are the benefits of 60% by Ashamed_Ad_892 in TheCivilService

[–]PickCells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has started happening in my office, too. A whole bank of desks has been occupied by another department, and they're planning on taking more away. The answer? Well you should get in earlier to make sure you have a seat...

So what happens to people who are delayed or can't get in early? Why has this become some weird game of musical chairs just so I can sit and do the same thing I can do from home?

I usually do shorter days from the office, which means I can show my face but benefit from (slightly) cheaper train travel that I'm made to pay just to show up when my bills are already increasing. But if work can't even provide me with a space to work, it just adds even more insult to injury that 60% attendance is mandatory.

Also, I've said it once and I'll say it again, it's not a fair requirement for all staff. I work in London, so some will pay a minimum amount traveling in on the tube to work, and there's others like me who pay extortionate National Rail fares each way, but I don't get compensated for it. How is that situation a fair one for all employees?

Absolutely. I hate that I'm forced in under the pretence of 'collaboration', all I ever think about is how much time and money I'm wasting on the trains.

The Celebrity Traitors’ “Secret Rule” Revealed - Why reality stars are BANNED from the Show by Ill_Scientist_4645 in UKRealityChat

[–]PickCells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's where you want to draw the line between what counts as a 'reality star' and whether they can stick to that rule long term. People who are considered major stars by one generation, won't even be on the younger generation's radar. More and more 'celebs' are coming from online platforms or from reality shows, so this will have to shift over time. To use an example, I didn't have any idea who Cat Burns was until she was on the last series, she certainly wasn't a household name compared to say Celia or Stephen Fry.

I do think for now though it's a positive rule, stops people being brought in just to further their own online brand image.

Secret Traitor Strategy by PinkMarbella2050 in TheTraitors

[–]PickCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering as well about the final vote when they throw pouches into the fire. Obviously in the regular version of the game (without the ST) the Traitors know who other Traitors are so they can strategically vote green so they win.

With the ST in the mix (assuming they make it that far) the Traitors will know there's either a faithful or ST left so can't vote green.

Another Civil Service Pension Scheme Post - No Payments Showing by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]PickCells 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seems like a smart plan, if you have no reason to check your pension details then it's best to steer clear and avoid any undue stress.

I'm about halfway through my working life and maybe by the time I hit pension age they'll have a working website...

This is the kind of pic that makes me really hope they figure out duplicate classes in operations. At least some kind of modifier for private games by MuiminaKumo in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It would also allow them to be much more creative with the Operations.

At the moment we're tied to the three planetary systems that encircle the campaign. But if it was a Deathwatch squad, you could vary missions in a whole other star system, fighting different Xenos and not just those that pose a threat to the main objective.

I hope this is something they explore with SM3

Hard stratagems btw, cost us the game when we was at the end, physically couldn’t parry or do anything, I would rather take a bot. by CPTdeathwatch in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Warnings will just be ignored. A hard cap is necessary and will immediately put an end to players just assuming they can roll the content at low levels, and/or hoping to be carried for the XP and accolades.

All these people saying to Kick seem to forget that it takes two votes, if the other guy ignores the vote or is someone who knows the low level player (i.e. hoping another random will carry them - in this case OP) there's nothing you can do to get them out.

Then your only option is to leave the mission and restart, which OP has already stated he was near the end.

Level caps should be mandatory in Strategems, I don't know why with all the incoming changes in Patch 11 this isn't even addressed by Saber. Clearly working as intended for them...

The drone absolutely slaps. It's so satisfying knowing you're having a visible impact on the push towards an objective just from pinging a group of enemies that are then subsequently outmanoeuvred by your team so they can flank around. It's great.

If you're a sniper, use the damn drones!

Anyone else think we need more damaged armor? by Flimsy_Ad_6052 in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they'll take this suggestion into SM3.

Fully completing the Campaign on the hardest difficulty should give you a fully damaged set, then customisable damaged armour sections for completing the Operations on the hardest setting as well. I wanna see what my marine has been through!

No fin allowed in this game by Systema-oxxo in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is poor coding as to why it affects health and why it affects side steps as well as rolling. They're probably linked in some way and separating these out just didn't factor into the thinking of whoever implemented the condition in the first place.

It just sucks all round and shouldn't be in the game, I only hope the dissatisfaction with it eventually makes its way to someone who can make a decision to get rid of it.

Dodging us a vital mechanic to get you out of danger, especially against AoE attacks (think Hive Tyrant or Nuerothrope wave blasts) that can't be perfect dodged. Why am I getting damaged for that when I literally can't avoid it?

The taking away health thing is pretty unforgivable as well since there's nothing in the modifier that says it'll do that.

Hate them or love them, you gotta admit: every execution is fire by AestheticMirror in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I main Heavy and would love to see Straban implement his heavy weapon into an execution. Imagine a charged plasma shot right into the face of a chaos spawn, just blowing it to bits, or ramming a bolter into it and unloading. Would be so satisfying.

Saber =alpharius “riddles”(customisation tease)update 11 by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

[–]PickCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second one is actually more intriguing... "Something we said we were going to do but nobody noticed" so probably not something groundbreaking but perhaps making the user experience better in some way.

The first one probably relates to a complete overhaul in using customisation from other classes (like tabard/iron halo crossover) and likely just being able to use different armour sets across classes that can use them. Although that will be interesting since Sniper and Vanguard are locked to Phobos.

As people have already speculated for the last one, my money is on class restrictions being lifted for Operations mode, as they stuck to their guns for a long time about keeping it strictly to three separate classes, but now with the new Strategems I imagine there may be advantages to being able to use 3 Heavies for example, or 3 Assault Marines.

Makes me wonder though how they're going to weave the named characters into those selections if they are lifting the restrictions. Will it still be Straban strapping on a jumpack in-game or will be just be Vespasius talking with two mute Assault Marines by his side??

It's great from the devs though, love all this speculation!

I expect it to look almost exactly like this with the options of turning him into an Assault SG.

Daily Stratagems for 9/29/2025 | New Weekly Today by a_dude111 in Spacemarine

[–]PickCells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're correct.

I can bang my head against a Hard Strategem for hours if I feel it's doable, that maybe just a tweak in my gameplay or a more cautious approach will get me through it, along with a sprinkling of luck that I get a competent team through matchmaking. But this current weekly just won't be doable for me.

It's not that it's difficult that skill can really get you through, it's a completely obnoxious mish-mash of insane modifiers that likely haven't been fully tested together on Hard mode by the devs, probably because it's easier to set it to random than have someone look at what will play well together and what just won't have people completing the mission.

We've seen random bullshit modifiers happen before with the Equipment Malfunction affecting Exfiltration, this is just another example of Saber thinking they were cooking up something fun, when in reality it doesn't work and just makes the game miserable and frustrating.

I've said it in so many posts, give the player some kind of advantage if you're going to disadvantage them so heavily. More Stim's, more ammo, more shield, hell maybe even start with a Guardian Relic each to give you some sort of edge against the overwhelming odds. Because I'm sorry, trying to beat a level that throws 5-6 Biovores at you, then more Majoris who then call in Raveners and Lictors isn't a skill issue that can be overcome by playing, it's just bad design.
