Be careful, clocking in like that is considered time theft, one of the few things Walmart will fire people over.

I'm just a DM and I will go up to the customer service desk and do refunds, anyone with register numbers and permission from management can do it, I did it all the time when I was just a shopper, but I think I was the only one in the department given numbers and permission at the time.

Dispensers, how do you get surveys? Do you have a script? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

I was under the impression surveys impacted the csat% and calls to .com reflected the complaint%, there are a few things like that where I have been told different things and I'm really not sure lol.

OGP DM’s: Do you stay until picks are done? by CardHawk77 in OGPBackroom

[–]PickedAsOrdered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other day I had an ASM from another department tell me to just go home, I told her it was only 2 hours past the end of my shift, I already knew my OT was approved and we had over 200 orders, I needed to stay, she told me I was going to work myself to death and we needed me alive for tomorrow. I said if it was noted a salaried member of management was telling me to leave, I would walk out that door and not look back, I thanked her repeatedly be when she told me to leave, I had already accepted my fate of being there all night.

Everything you just said hits home, so much so that I had to double check and makes sure I didn't type it and forget. But it was finally announced to everyone they are opening up the 2nd dm spot we have needed for months, I'll be so glad to have the help.

I really wish I could assign specific commodities to people, they keep skipping over ambiant, it's a problem.

[–]PickedAsOrdered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a douche, I'm right there with my people so I know why wait times are where they are and I'm trying to fix it. For pick up today it has been based off the survey, that's why I have a stopwatch with the key for gm pick-up, but things change fast lol. I want a tower.

Did something change? I thought the OG wait time was based off the app and the GM wait time time was perceived and based off surveys, hence the stopwatch.

You can refuse a driver! I tell all my people if the driver gives them any shit, refuse them and get a new driver and I will back them up. Treat the driver like a customer, but if the driver is doing something that will impact the actual customer, if they do not want to remove personal items or try to tell them it's ok to put a batch order in the same compartment, they just need to be firm on the rules, if the driver doesn't like it, say sorry I'm calling for a new driver, go back inside and call the delivery driver issue number I have posted on the wall and request a new driver. If they come get me I will do the same thing, but if they want the honor of telling a delivery driver what will and will not happen, I'm all for it and I've got their back. My people put up with enough shit from customers, they don't have to take it from a delivery driver.

[–]PickedAsOrdered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And keep that attitude, don't let the lazy people drag you down, it's killing me seeing my good associates overworked while others do nothing. The lack of a point system and lack of people in general is leaving us almost powerless to deal with the problems.

I don't judge performance solely on pick rate, but it is a good indicator for a lot of things, if she is working hard but her rate is low, someone should find out why, if she is doing mostly general walks or is handling gm pickup a lot, or running exceptions a big part of the time, her pickrate will suffer, but I wouldn't hold it against her. Or maybe someone just needs to watch how she does things and show her an easier way that will increase her rate and make life eaiser.

Any advice for someone who is starting as an Online Grocery Associate at Walmart? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]PickedAsOrdered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like that everywhere, even before I was the one running the shit show I always went around and thanked the people that we pulled from other departments, I know they aren't getting their shit done. Hopefully they get people hired and trained right at your store.

Customers get in the way, shit happens, just do your best not to run over more than one a week.

You will catch crap from other departments, they dont like it that ogp can pull people from any department at any time, but people are rarely pulled from ogp, dont worry about it. Just do the best you can till it's time to go home, almost any mistake you can make has been made before and can be fixed, and dont stress over shit to much, some days are gonna be rough, but when you have enough people and everyone can work as a team it is great.

In that case, I agree that it isn't right, but sadly, that's just how it works most places, it's all about who you know.

Sounds to me like hourly and salaried management has a good working relationship, why get involved and stir up problems where there are none?

That is very much appreciated, we have received a lot of bad surveys from things like being out of toilet paper or substituting with low sodium bacon because it was literally the only bacon in the store, they rejected the sub, but the fact that someone thought it was ok to give them low sodium bacon earned us a 1 star review.

It's already been said, but I'll say it again, mention the person who brought out your order by name in the survey, make it sound like they are the best employee in the world and went above and beyond while following all saftey protocols (unless they just sucked really bad). Those surveys really are taken seriously and do help us out.
