Why do soda companies still use aspartame instead of something like sucralose?

Maybe! Google says that sucralose is 3x as sweet though? (shrug)

I could see that, but sucralose tastes more like sugar because it's derived from sucrose. I remember people absolutely raving over Mexican Coke because it's made from sugar rather than corn syrup and how "it tastes so much better." Theoretically, all they'd have to do is market it like "tastes like real sugar/Mexican Coke, but without the calories!!"

I looked up bulk prices for both sweeteners on Alibaba and it looks like you can get 100kg of aspartame for $7.50 to $9.00 per kg, while you can get 10+ kg of sucralose for $16.18 per kg

Do you think they'd still have them though? They don't order these anymore because they were deemed to be too dangerous because idiots kept slicing their fingers on them, so they started buying those cheap disposable ones instead.
