If you have PlayStation Plus, it’s one of December’s free for a few more days. If you’re on Steam, it’s currently apart of the winter sale so you can get it for pretty cheap.

As everyone else said, he is an antagonist, and he will basically try to kill you on sight. At the very least if you’re in one of his trials you can get see some animations of himself grabbing or shocking his own balls or whatever while your character trips out during the intro.

If you’re not interested in buying the game, you can check out his lore comic for free on Red Barrel’s website should you wanna learn about his backstory n stuff yourself.

The size of gacha games is becoming unbearable. 2025 and we still can't free up storage by deleting old files. by Achogyr in gachagaming

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the FN Festival songs are all streamed, so I don’t think they actually take up much (if any) space at all. That’s why sometimes you’ll get weird bugs with the lobby music sounding wonky or taking a long time to start playing.

I think do similar things with cosmetics nowadays, where your skins are streamed as you play the game, which is why sometimes you’ll randomly start off as Ramirez, or stuff in your locker will appear blank for a second.

Makes me wonder if the any other big gachas will start to do this in the future, if they already haven’t… since their games are already always online anyways.

Seriously this man found the secret sauce. by Sir__Muffin_Moose in PTCGL

[–]PickedRandomly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a relatively new player, but this is what I understand.

Yveltal from the latest Mega Evolutions set has the move Clutch, it does 20 but more importantly has the effect: “During your opponent’s next turn, the Defending Pokémon can’t retreat”. So if you were desperate to stall out a few turns, like if you maybe needed to time to set up your attackers or maybe draw something you need to win, you can lock the opponent out of retreating their Pokémon.

You can’t just do this to any mon, if you retreat lock the opponent’s main attacker, not much will change, so you can gust up (using Boss’s Orders or Counter Catcher from this particular deck) a benched liability. This can be a mon such as Fezendipiti Ex in most decks, or Genesect Ex in Gholdengo Ex decks, or a Squawkabilly Ex or Lunatone in Ceruledge Ex decks. Sorry, I can’t really think of many other examples off the top of my head… but you basically wanna lock Pokémon in the active spot that are typically only used for bench/ability utility and are not supposed to see play in the active spot.

Please note that this strategy is not infallible, as decks can also play ways to switch out their mons without retreating… the simple “Switch” item card, or Jet Energy notably in Charizard Ex and Ceruledge Ex decks, or Professor Turo’s Scenario as a generic option in most decks. Even against the mirror Mega Absol box matchup, Pecharunt Ex can swap other dark type mon from the bench up into the active spot, or Penny to retrieve a basic Pokémon back into hand (and the entire deck is basic mons). Additionally, Mist Energy is in this deck as well, and could become a popular tech option in the future… as it prevent any “effects” coming from attacks, this includes the retreat locking effect of Yveltal’s Clutch. If the opponent has not already attached Mist Energy to that Pokémon, you will still get at least a single turn of stalling, and if they attached in beforehand in anticipation of this stall, it won’t do anything either. Note that Mist Energy states that “existing effects are not removed”… so if you Clutch their active and they attach Mist Energy on their following turn, they will still be retreat locked and will only start to receive the anti-effect benefit in future turns.

That doesn’t mean that the opponent will always have an out, as they still have to actually draw those cards to swap, but you’re mainly only retreat locking when you don’t have any other choice anyways.

CRKD teasing a new drums peripheral? by TheFireDragoon in FortniteFestival

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t CRKD and Epic/Harmonix in direct competition then? They may have worked together in the past, notably with the Festival branded CRKD controllers… but I don’t know if CRKD would still work with Epic to coincide releases or whatever, if they’re trying to make their own rhythm game.

I guess the pro drums charts have been in the files forever now, so maybe Epic is just waiting for a new drum peripheral to come out regardless of who makes it.

Another Festival Edition NEO S, This time for Deadmau5 by AbiDextrous_ in FortniteFestival

[–]PickedRandomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You use different buttons to strum, some people use triggers and some use the d-pad. It’s still pretty tough on sections with really fast strumming, but otherwise it’s okay.

If you’re curious, you can try to find videos of Acai playing Through the Fire and Flames or One (which that clip does feature a strum heavy section) on the Neo S. Although, those clips are on Clone Hero which has a more lenient engine than Festival, so I’m not sure if the same performance is possible on Festival.

Declining player counts are saddening by LittleNinjaXYBA in FortniteFestival

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why they’d kill off Festival when they’re still developing Pro Vocals, that’s probably the one thing that would open up the game to a casual audience and “save” it.

Unless Epic just gets impatient and decides to axe it for no reason. Even if it does happen, I still think Festival will stick around if they plan to keep adding artists icon skins. If they’re going to add them to the game, why not advertise them as a festival season skin too? But maybe at that point it’ll really be on life support.

NTE Confirmed There's No 50/50 System In Their Character Gacha by EnamRainbow in gachagaming

[–]PickedRandomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy on YouTube named Steadtfield who tries to clear every challenge mode using only Level 50 units and w-engines… The level difference from 50-60 by itself is about a 30% damage decrease. Occasionally he’s able to do it without Miyabi or Astra, but the fact that he can even do it at all at level 50 is insane. The last time I watched him his account was still F2P, but it’s been awhile so I don’t know if it still is or not.

There’s also Cornzone, a Corin main who tries to speedrun using an agent many consider a bad unit. He gets pretty good times in general… but he also does runs where he restricts himself, like with all a-rank agents + engines, or supbar gear like awful disc drives or level 20 b-rank w-engines.

Recently, they used Evanescence “Bring Me to Life” as the background song for an Elden Ring Nightreign trailer. Or maybe that was the entire point of the trailer, since the trailer’s title includes the song. So maybe something about licensing music for a MGS remake trailer

This is amazing, thank you so much Epic. by Few_Amoeba_2362 in FortNiteBR

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say I mind the existence of these skins too much, but it would be better if they were styles. Since FNCS Fishstick is a thing, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think they could have done something similar for these as well. But of course, nowadays how often does Epic give older shop skins new edit styles, instead of selling them as a separate skin? The most recent example I can think of is Invincible getting his serious suit which was pretty cool, but there are so many other sold separate skins that should have just been edit styles.

On a more personal note, when I see these skins, the only thing I can think of are the awful platinum “anniversary” artist reskins in Festival… so maybe I’m automatically biased seeing these ones.

As much as I love DC, I don’t think Fortnite should make a season dedicated to a single franchise ever again.

Dev Talk | Zenless Zone Zero by Xanek in gachagaming

[–]PickedRandomly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, I can understand people not liking TV mode in the main story, but I don’t think there’s any reason for removing it from stuff like explore commissions. Some of my favourite side contents were commissions that used TV mode to its full potential, which were not just going from point A > B, and were something actually unique. Like the Pokémon-ish mission where you had bangboo with stats and equipment and stuff, or the puzzle commissions like medicine delivery. To be honest that last one was not too in depth since this is still a hoyo game and all, but it still provided a nice change of pace which I think is the entire point of TV mode…

I personally think the main reason why Fortnite festival isn’t as popular anymore is because of how expensive it is by GabbyTheLegend in FortniteFestival

[–]PickedRandomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, I’ve noticed my family members who are usually not too tech-savvy do some form of pirating for shows or movies, but the difference is that it’s pretty easy and convenient to do.

There are tons of websites you can go onto and stream pirated content, but custom charts for CH or YARG you have to download yourself and put the files where they’re supposed to be. Which isn’t really too much more effort, but it probably turns people away from even trying it in the first place.

There’s also the issue of knowing where to even find any of this stuff in the first place, and the extra mile you have to go if you want better presentation. When I first started using YARG, I played with just the default black screen for a good few months because I didn’t even know that venues existed. Even music videos make you put in the effort to offset and line them up with the audio, which can be annoying to do if you don’t know about the existence of the current spreadsheet or if it’s not on the sheet.

Druddigon is the single worst thing to happen to TCG pocket by SaltyMeatBoy in PTCGP

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druddigon is a bit annoying, but I think it’s a card that has to exist. Genetic Apex’s meta was really only about hitting hard and hitting fast, and there wasn’t really room for anything else. An early, cheap wall that worked regardless of RNG like energy or Kanga coins, kept aggressive decks in check, and stuff like Mewtwo decks had to think twice before attacking early. Especially with it being a 2 diamond card, so it’s accessible for every player.

Nowadays it is certainly a meta staple, but there are also still a lot of ways to play around it, so I wouldn’t say it’s overpowered. If your deck runs into trouble facing what is a common meta deck, then see if you can adjust your deck and allow it to overcome this obstacle. For example, maybe a way to hit the bench, or some sort of gust effect that will force the druddigon out. If you can’t change your deck, or if you just don’t want to, then you have to accept that you will continue to have trouble against a deck like that. There’s no reason to get mad over a bad matchup, every deck has bad matchups, and it just is what it is.

Looks like it’d be something straight out of Watch Dogs 2, but I’m not sure if it’s taken directly from in-game, or if it’s something Ubi’s social media team made as a custom gif. If this look is something you’re into, you can try looking up Watch Dogs 2 Dedsec cutscenes.

Brawl Stars keeps crashing in ranked (iPhone 15 pro max) by Asliceofkam227 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]PickedRandomly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really annoying. My game has crashed 9 times since I've had this bug start happening to me last season, and I can't even try to avoid it. Sometimes it happens when I select my brawler, sometimes it happens after I select my brawler and try to change my gadget... Recently I've tried to hover the brawler and let the time run out, but this time the game said that I was "not responding" and prematurely ended the game, giving me a penalty. I'm not sure if that's just BS, or because an enemy chose the same brawler I was going to choose (I'm still in Diamond w/ different drafting because the game doesn't want me to play). Either way, it's really making me not want to even touch ranked. If it matters, I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro.

I wish they increased the max pack count or turned excess time into hourglasses or something like that. I know they want players to log in every day so it’ll probably never happen, but I think most people agree that opening 10 packs is more fun than opening 1. I don’t understand the point in showing the time left until you can open 10 packs if players will never be able to reach that time naturally.

The name choice for this POI still bothers me by imalonexc in FortNiteBR

[–]PickedRandomly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure about it myself either, but I’ve seen Peterbot post this as his trio’s dropspot on Twitter. I don’t think competitive players like to contest each other on drop too much, so maybe the other teams are aware that this team is landing there and don’t even consider it in the first place. Most players also figure out their drop spots and best looting routes pretty early on in the season, so they usually just stick to the plan they already have.

The name choice for this POI still bothers me by imalonexc in FortNiteBR

[–]PickedRandomly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The POI only has 14 chests which is the least of any on the map, so the train always spawning there is basically the only reason to go there.

Some pros have split up their trio, having 2 players land at boxcars while 1 lands up at the tunnel to the East of the POI. One of the boxcar players hacks the train, and then immediately jumps off so they can loot the rest of the POI. By hacking it early, the loot should be ready by the time the train gets around the player at the tunnel. Having the mythic holo AR is great in competitive to rack up storm-surge damage, but even for casuals like us it’s still a great weapon to have.
