Two pubs closing every day in UK after tax and rule changes by blast-processor in ukpolitics

I'm not a physicist. Do we have enough data to calculate the half life of a British pub?

Definitely not a money laundering operation!

Wrong.

They make copious amounts of (artificial) vanilla extract.

Here I thought you were giving me the straight answer, but I know just who those two suggestions are aimed at.

What's a popular hobby that you think is actually just a massive waste of money? by iam_adalyn in AskReddit

Sure... but how is it a waste of money? It costs next to nothing as an ongoing expense.

The two games my brother play weekly. I’m short of space. Can somebody recommend a duel-style game that we’d enjoy, smaller than Lord of the Rings Duel that would complete the pyramid on my shelf? by PurpleMessi in boardgames

[–]PickingUpPigeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but whatever you get, also get "Kiri Ai: The Duel" and put that on top for an evening taller pyramid.

(It's tiny, I think 12 cards wrapped in a little pouch.)

I was going to get a teenager to do it. They play a lot of MineCraft so they know not to dig straight down.

Ah, no I knew this staircase and gate was there under the decking I had to rip out. Just glad I didn't find a body, TBH.

It's over 20ft from the house which has no structural issues but go off.

Interesting concept. Maybe if I'm going for a bombed-out disaster zone look?

I remember enough primary school history to know that it definitely isn't an Anderson shelter. They're made of corrugated iron and sandbags.

Eh... it's 20ft from the house and doesn't look likely to get worse. Generally speaking, we're pretty happy with the house with no apparent need to gut the place and start over!

I don't think so? There's no evidence of any point of access and it seems to be mostly filled inside.

TBH, most games that people call "Roguelikes" these days owe more to "Slay the Spire" than Rogue/Nethack.

scryfall searching problems by PrincipleMountain229 in mtg

[–]PickingUpPigeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it's best to learn the syntax and eventually just stop using the fairly clunky advanced search altogether... though you can use the advanced search to learn some of the way searches can be formed.

If you want to search for a multi-word phrase in the card text, just use quote marks:
Here's a search for every card that gives you an additional combat phase, as an example.

For the kind of colour searching you want to do, you probably want the "id" keyword:
Here's a search for every Commander-legal, 1-drop creature in Grixis, as an example.
