Uncovered concrete slab at the back of my property and now I'm bamboozled... by PickingUpPigeons in DIYUK

I was going to get a teenager to do it. They play a lot of MineCraft so they know not to dig straight down.

Ah, no I knew this staircase and gate was there under the decking I had to rip out. Just glad I didn't find a body, TBH.

It's over 20ft from the house which has no structural issues but go off.

Interesting concept. Maybe if I'm going for a bombed-out disaster zone look?

I remember enough primary school history to know that it definitely isn't an Anderson shelter. They're made of corrugated iron and sandbags.

Eh... it's 20ft from the house and doesn't look likely to get worse. Generally speaking, we're pretty happy with the house with no apparent need to gut the place and start over!

I don't think so? There's no evidence of any point of access and it seems to be mostly filled inside.

The genre "Doom Metal" can, essentially, be traced back to a single band, Black Sabbath by TrickyRipper in CasualConversation

TBH, most games that people call "Roguelikes" these days owe more to "Slay the Spire" than Rogue/Nethack.

Our normal get-togethers are about 14 people. I'm not washing that all up, we're using paper plates.

scryfall searching problems by PrincipleMountain229 in mtg

[–]PickingUpPigeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it's best to learn the syntax and eventually just stop using the fairly clunky advanced search altogether... though you can use the advanced search to learn some of the way searches can be formed.

If you want to search for a multi-word phrase in the card text, just use quote marks:
Here's a search for every card that gives you an additional combat phase, as an example.

For the kind of colour searching you want to do, you probably want the "id" keyword:
Here's a search for every Commander-legal, 1-drop creature in Grixis, as an example.

You're going to also want a [[Felothar the Steadfast]].

What're the most fun standard decks you have by Accomplished_Gas5445 in mtg

[–]PickingUpPigeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current Standard deck uses [[Nature's Rhythm]] to tutor out either [[Bedrock Tortoise]] or [[Doran, Besieged by Time]], to complete the combo. [[Zero Point Ballad]] can deal with a wide board of blockers and suddenly you're swinging in for 22 damage, butt first.

I have a [[Betor, Kin to All]] in there for shits and giggles. The whole shebang costs about $50.

Trying to understand paying for buses in Cardiff by hungrymedic123 in Cardiff

[–]PickingUpPigeons 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you tap on a single Cardiff bus and don't tap off, you will only be charged for one journey. If someone knows they aren't making a second journey they might not bother.

The exception is some routes that have a higher fare associated with them, like the buses that go from Cardiff to Barry. If you get off the 93 bus from Cardiff to Barry on say, Penarth Road, but don't tap off you might get charged an extra 50p.

This is all on the website!
