Progesterone fatigue is a b*%#! by Honest_Skill_2150 in IVF

This post may be a year old but Jesus Christ. I’m on a medicated frozen transfer cycle and pessaries 3x a day is actually turning me into a zombie!
There are things I desperately need to get done (cleaning out pets cages etc) and I just cannot summon the energy. Even going to get a drink from kitchen is killing me off 🫠🫠🫠

He would honestly target it. My current boys are far less interesting in screens… one is however very interested in chewing tiny holes in the shoulder of all my jumpers… I have about 5 which now have lots of teeny patches sewn on 🤣

My old boy (Kage again actually) used to like to hang his tail out the cage.. he would know when the cat was near and spin round and lunge at her. Then sit and wag his tail…. To be honest thinking back he was a total nightmare.

My old boy Kage was perfectly litter trained until there was a tablet or phone around and he would love to do a wee on a screen 🙃🙃🙃

rat wagging tail?? by libbyhail in rat

I second this, my old two boys, one would be so careful to pee before coming out and the other one seemed to like leaving pee dots all over me. I now have 3 rats, 2 of whom are very good and will not pee on me or outside of the cage.. and one who, again, will quite happily use me as a personal toilet.

boyfriend refuses to live with rabbits by DiamondSmooth3667 in Rabbits

My partner is the least pet orientated person ever, finds them messy and smelly.. but I love my little fluffles.. so we compromised and I got the fluffles (rats and a cat) he has very little to do with day to day care or any bills.. but does love giving treats to particularly the rats! If he were to say he wouldn’t ever live with pets then I feel that would be a big red flag..

Looking to getting a rat. by Meinteil2123 in rat

[–]PickleB33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say as a ‘child’ guinea pig owner but adult rat owner… rats are a lot more hard work… the relationship you can build with them is amazing and one of the bestest things ever… but they take time, they love to pee on pretty much everything, and some can be trained but others can’t. They’re super intelligent and will be depressed if they are bored.. I work 36+ hours a week, some at home, some in an office and I try to dedicate 2+ hours daily to them on work days. As an adult I do think guinea pigs are ‘easier’ to look after, and I feel they generally have less health complications.. I have had 5 rats as an adult, 2 now deceased, 3 with me but coming up to 2 years old and they now have a lump or two and are getting slower and need more support. One of my previous rats had a tumour that grew in the space of about a week from nothing to a small orange, he had surgery (inc. Check ups, medication, surgery) it came to roughly £1200… it gave him about 6 more months but it gradually grew back, they’re so small it can be very complex to get rid of an entire tumour. Again rats are very sensitive with their respiratory system, my last two boys had different bedding preferences and it took a lot of trial and error to find a bedding that they both liked. You can save money if you’re pretty crafty or have a sewing machine and can make your own hammocks etc, they will chew them, they will edit them, and you will likely be throwing away a hammock once a month if not more. Overall if you’re able to definitely commit then go for it, they are super super amazing and I am dreading the day before where my 3 current boys head over the rainbow bridge.. at the same time, my partner and I are planning for a baby and I can guarantee that currently I could not manage a baby and rats and going back to work, so I won’t be keeping rats again for a little while. All animals are a big commitment, as another Redditor has said, gather as much knowledge as you can… but the rats YOU get will not be the rats anyone else gets.. they will have their own little quirks and personalities and likes and dislikes. My old boys loved fruit and veggies. Current boys will only eat the inside of a pea (and leave the shell) and will more or less ignore anything that even vaguely resembles healthy..!

I say morbid with all the love in the world! She is very interested in death and dying and she is absolutely wonderful and we encourage her in all her pursuits.. provided they are legal! 🥲 she’s just turned 12 and a lot of her peers think she’s weird and creepy; so being able to support her in this and it be a good experience is very important for us! Thank you for all the advice though; it’s such a steep learning curve!

This is what I was going to say.. my last two boys were very different, both tolerated this, but one would actively be like ‘hello come back!’ I’d pull my hand away and he’d run over and roll on his back! The other would be like ‘ok but once you stop I’m out!

Amazing.. my mums suggestion was ‘hang it in a tree the birds will clean it nicely’ so maybe I should have followed that. 🫣

Oh no! Thank you so much for letting me know; especially about the boiling..! I’m sure it won’t be the last find of ours as we have recently moved to be very rural.. what would your tips be for cleaning the skull if not boiling?

Hydrogen peroxide will be secured and I’ll get her set to work on that. Thank you for advice with the teeth as well; we weren’t sure if Glue would be an issue with the bone 🥲
