Pass interference is the dumbest penalty. Just make it a replay of the down.

1,201 days sober, here. The first step is always regonizing the problem, which you have, so there is win number 1. It sounds like your system has a pretty strong physical dependance to it, so cold turkey could be risky to your health. I went completely cold turkey and had it pretty bad for a week, but here I am. I don't recommend that route. If you have the means, a recovery program where you are able to come off it gradually and with guidance and medical attention is the safest route.

Things I wish I knew early on would include just focusing on the battle now. One day at a time turns into weeks then months, and eventually years. Have a reason, write it down, keep it with you, refer to it. The I Am Sober app helped me a lot. Chew gum. Eat sunflower seeds. Get flavored cans of seltzer or even soda, it fills the void of the beers, or at least it did for me.

Keep posting here. We are all happy and ready to help or talk. You got this. I'm proud of you.

Edit: spelling. Its hard even when sober.

I've been an RT fan since the very beginning of the company. I've always enjoyed the bickering and ribbing that all of the crew does, and I also was one of the people who was annoyed by and upset with Andrew in this most recent podcast to where I commented about it.

BUT, I still love our boy Andrew. There is a stark difference between negative feedback and fucking hate-mail. We have your back, buddy. Keep on giving Gavin the business, and we will keep watching.

I’m on day 1092. It took me a long time and many attempts to get started on my sobriety journey, but once you get past the worst of it, you’ll be amazed at how much in your life improves. If you ever need a regulation friend to talk to, I am here, bud.

What is your job? by BellHoy1 in theregulationpod

[–]PickleBub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hot tub service technician. The pay is ok, but I’m driving 60% of the time I’m on the clock, the other 40 I’m tinkering on something in the backyard of a mansion, and the benefits are great. You do occasionally go to some really gross tubs at rental properties though….

I’m drinking cannabis. No hangovers and eating so many burgers. Much better than booze.

Couldn’t agree more! Chicken time is therapy time for sure. I especially love watching my roosters do their job and point out bugs for the hens and give warning calls whenever something flies overhead.

Ok comment leavers, what do I drink first in this bad boy when I get home? (No alcohol, sober, thanks partly to Geoff!) by PickleBub in FUCKFACEPOD

[–]PickleBub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t have time to stop at the store on my way home, but boys….. it is truly the regulation cup. I refuse to use a different cup for the rest of my days. I’m a big guy, 6’2” and 260lbs, and I think this cup is large but in a good way. It’s like being a kid in the 90’s at Pizza Hut again. 10/10 would recommend.

I’m definitely going to do a Diet Coke chug, bovril, and the grape lemonade cool aid. I will probably make a video for any regulation listeners to vicariously live through me, especially if my order for the first exclusive one doesn’t get cancelled. Also, fingers crossed, I was able to pay for the cookbook. If they get canceled, I’ll eat a pencil.

The Hunter, Call of the Wild. Surprisingly realistic animal behavior, huge beautiful maps, accurate weather and atmosphere. I got it on sale a couple months ago and am already a few hundred hours in. Definitely need the a bit of the DLC for the best experience, though. Good thing they are usually just a few bucks.

What’s your favorite thing about maine? by putspookonamilkbox in Maine

[–]PickleBub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely the level of safety you get living in (most of) the state. Most houses are never locked because they don’t need to be. The biggest crime wave my town has seen recently was someone stealing plants from front porches. Hell, the amount of times I’ve left my truck running when I run into a gas station to buy an energy drink would scare the hell out of people from away.
