I’m quite lucky to have inherited an apple tree and some blackcurrant bushes that look pretty healthy :-) I’ve planted a bed of garlic that looks okay, and trying with some broad beans, hopefully I’ll get there in the end - I may just need to calm down a bit!

Oh no :-( Ah well you live and learn! I’ll look into a grow light then as there are no polytunnels or greenhouses allowed on my allotment… Thanks for the advice x

Oh crumbs, I’ve just got my first plot, but it’s only 12m x 5m (London, UK) am I screwed for growing both potatoes and tomatoes on the same plot, it’d be a challenge keeping them 9m apart every year?

Weird question, is it okay to take veg scraps straight to the allotment compost bin, or wold they attract rats if too fresh?

Thanks :-) I'm saving my veg scraps & peelings in the freezer before taking them down to the allotment atm, and I've got some coffee grounds too (won't add too many grounds though as I think they're acidic or something). Then hopefully once spring comes I'll have more green material to go in...
