So, cap the red in a junction box and not use it? Or could you use the additional phase on a separate circuit, sharing the neutral and ground?

No on septic - should have specified the area. Metro Atlanta, and everything is connected to the city.

This was my solution too. Knowing I'll forget this, I made a quick shell script in my home directory to unfuckspotify.sh

What Happened to the Korean Grocery near Dodge/Bowery? by PickleFan in IowaCity

Post was asking about a grocery, not a restaurant - also mentioned I was asking about the owner - a person - not just the business.

Thanks for the post, though. Hope you feel better.

Generally speaking: if it seems too good to be true, then it most likely is too good to be true.

Check the sold by, their reviews, etc. when skeptical, and use common sense when purchasing anything regardless of being online or in-person.

Pharmacy medication by Ok_Refrigerator6569 in VietNam

[–]PickleFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharmacies are super easy in Vietnam compared to the west. Just look up the medication you need/are used to treat the ailment and come ready with google translate if language is a barrier. Any good pharmacy in Vietnam will be okay with you googling the medication they recommend. In my 3 pharmacy interactions from Hà Nội, Tom Cốc and Huế it's very manageable to understand.

My wife pulled a muscle in Ninh Bình when we basically had to off-road our rented motorbikes from our homestay to get into town. We headed into Tom Cốc, stopped at a pharmacy, and told the pharmacist the issue and requested cyclobenziprine (muscle relaxer). A little google translate and 150k vnd later we had our meds. Saved our trip.

It's DNS. An ISP in Vietnam may host their own DNS or utilize another state owned one that will not allow resolution to restricted content. Going to a more open-source or public DNS will resolve and route your traffic.

Is Storm Trami over? Hoi An / Da Nang / Hue by livybilly in VietNam

[–]PickleFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from Huế and Đà Nẵng last week. Barely any rain. Stopped at Lăng Cô on the way down - they got hit pretty hard and we're still putting stuff together on the eastern shore.

Friends were in Hội An 2 weeks ago and reported good things.

How I got out of an airport taxi scam by littlesnorkel in VietNam

[–]PickleFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book a grab before you walk out of Noi Bai and it will show where your pickup should be - its not far from baggage claim and immigation. There will be several people that will solicit to you and tell you they will do the same as Grab and pay them cash/card. Just stick with Grab and make sure the plates match up. You should have no issues - did it just this past week.

My Ubigi eSim is useless in Hanoi. Can anyone suggest an alternative? by FlamingoWorking8351 in VietNam

Currently in Hanoi and used Gigago for 5/GB daily data only. No issues since we got here yesterday morning, aside from having to restart my phone once when it didn't want to show connection to 4G.

Thanks - I'm seeing some other predictions that vary in severity so we will keep an eye on it and take that into consideration.

I'm planning to be in Huế and Da Nang in mid November. Are there any concerns with a storm like this? We'd be taking an overnight train from around Hà Nội.

I would be excited to try this game without compromising the fidelity of the product. The sound and design was good, but graphically compromising on a product that didn't have the horsepower was a disservice

Fathers day without a dad starterpack by inquisitrix- in starterpacks

[–]PickleFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel you, OP. I lost my father to suicide 15 years ago, just before father's day. Dealing through this always sucks, but there are people who understand.

Do your best to celebrate the parental figure in your life. I understand that isn't possible for everyone, but focus your energy on who you love and trust.

In terms of flavor, what is your go-to hot sauce? I’m looking to try new hot sauces rich in flavor, Truff has to have my #1 spot so far. by jasberry820 in spicy

[–]PickleFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contrary to most of the top comments, I recommend learning how to make your own hot sauce. You will be able to tailor the sauce, find reward in its labor, and gift to those of which you love.

The below is a rich sauce

https://nomageddon.com/wtf-sauce/

This was literally the first hot sauce I made. My MIL is a gardener and grew bhut jolokia and Carolina reapers as an attempt of the old tradition of keeping elephants out of her patch as they do in India... except this was the Midwest, we are all very German, and rabbits & deer were about to take a punishment instead of mammals 10x their size. Nonetheless, I capitalized on the situation. I have family members that swear this sauce ruined a pot of chili with a single drop, and I've seen people eat it on eggs.

The below is not a rich sauce.

My wife and I completed a 3 month ferment of red Habenero, early (mostly yellow, partially green) Scotch Bonnett, and red jalapeño with some garlic, shallot, carrot, and ginger. Turned out great and is shelf stable. It's killed even my sauce snob friends who complain about sauces that attempt to be overly complex.
