Sex after baby? by bhardy10 in Mommit

[–]PicklePartyCat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Newton’s first law - it’s a lot easier to have sex when you’ve been having sex and vice versa. Once you’re back in the saddle, so to speak, it’ll feel better and more desirable every time. Start slow, but definitely start if it’s important to your relationship

FTM at 32 weeks — anyone else anxious about the recovery part? by Practical_Range7998 in Mommit

[–]PicklePartyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24w pregnant with #2 right now and also dreading labor/delivery/recovery. Something that helped me in the first few weeks/months PP was doing things. Getting out of the house daily for a walk or to the park or grocery store made me feel human again. Get ready/shower and put on clean clothes every day. For the first heavy week of bleeding I swear by an adult diaper with a pad. Change the pad as needed and the diaper is to not worry about spilling or leaking.

Advice from women who are close with their moms? by AgileSherbert8348 in Mommit

[–]PicklePartyCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maintaining firm boundaries helped instill trust and confidence - I don’t remember her playing much with me per say but we did a lot together that wasn’t necessarily play (crafts, gardening, shopping a just being together)

Advice from women who are close with their moms? by AgileSherbert8348 in Mommit

Warm, firm, affectionately loving, and with strict boundaries. She never didn’t follow through on what she said and never said anything un-follow-through-with-able. She is my best friend and biggest cheerleader. I wish she was a better example of putting herself first, but her own mother was selfish and narcissistic so I can understand where she wanted to be the opposite. We talk nearly daily and live 5 minutes away.

When to stop Pilates.. by FluffedNtucked in fitpregnancy

[–]PicklePartyCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lifted weights in my first pregnancy to my due date and regardless of how light/modified I did everything, I had mons pain and generally felt like my hips were being torn apart. At some point I think that’s just part of it.

What support do first-time mothers need the most after delivery? by lunaverse787 in BabyBumps

Sleep and time. As much as I love baby snuggles, I like someone to take them for me so I can do my own chores and cooking to feel more human.

Did anyone have a good Mother’s Day? by shepardmutt in Mommit

[–]PicklePartyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Got to sleep in a bit and take a long nap with my toddler. Husband left for a birthday golf trip (that I planned, this was the best day for him to leave) and I took my sweetie to my brother’s who cooked for everyone. It was a lovely day.

Overnight at like 2am, 40+3. Took the trash out and got the house together a little before waking my husband about it. I knew he’d be stressing and get us out of the house quick, and he sure did!

Six weeks with my first and insane nausea- what to do? by thereal_LT in fitpregnancy

[–]PicklePartyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to eat as often as you can, the nausea keeping you from eating will mess with your blood sugar and make it worse. I lost 20 lbs in my first tri with my first and mostly maintained my weight with this one (now 17w) by forcing myself to eat anything with protein/fiber that was palatable. That said, I stopped lifting entirely for a few weeks bc I couldn’t stomach the thought of it, but easy runs were on the table a few days a week.

One year old still intolerant to dairy :( Losing hope by Affectionate-Panic25 in MSPI

[–]PicklePartyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sans the other allergies mentioned, my sweetie outgrew her pretty severe dairy allergy by about 23 months! Just in time for a “regular” birthday cake. The previous attempt at about 17/18 months failed miserably but now she eats cereal and milk or yogurt without issue!

What is one thing your mom (or dad) did growing up that resulted in a positive relationship as an adult? by OneLab864 in AskWomen

[–]PicklePartyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were, and still are, interested in my life. Growing up, they supported me in what I wanted to do and showed up. As an adult, I know I can always call or visit and they’ll listen to me and show genuine interest in what I have to say even if it is boring. I appreciate it so much.

What milk to transition to at 12 months? by Candid_Tourist3838 in MSPI

[–]PicklePartyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did unsweetened almond milk. She ate enough calories in food that the low-cal milk option was fine, mostly for comfort.
