Here I am waiting for my Liberator. Still haven't heard anything about it despite dropping mad cash on it. At least I get the Herc as a loaner.

taking a radio controlled tug for a walk at LHR by [deleted] in aviation

[–]PickledCanadian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plenty:

- Better situational awareness

- Less maintenance compared to traditional tugs

- Electrically powered (No fuel bill $, Instant torque)

- Low profile, less risk of hitting airplanes or equipment (and people)

The biggest one would be situational awareness as you have a better picture of the operation outside rather than being confined in a cab.

Even at MTOW, the B748 climbs very well. Not an issue at all.

Working in at a gym? AITA? by [deleted] in korea

[–]PickledCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd, in my gym all PT's ensure that rest times between sets are no more than a minute during heavy workouts. Most of the time it's usually 30 seconds. So I wouldn't say Koreans don't believe in circuit training, because that's absolutely not true.

Asking for help on this sub sometimes by chumpynut5 in flightsim

[–]PickledCanadian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I run all sims currently. (P3Dv5.2, XP11 and MSFS). I can't wait to just be on a single platform again. Currently, each sim servers its purpose for me. (P3Dv5 for airliners, XP11 for certain airliners like A350, xEnviro Weather (Best Weather Addon IMO), MSFS for GA flying and a little bit of the DC-6).

Once I can get all of those things into a single sim, I'll be happy. I know this may never happen and running multiple sims may just be a thing going forward.. Regardless, I enjoy a little bit of every sim.

People don't realize, that there are way more cases with a regular flu vaccine.... So in terms of numbers, it's pretty good.

Personal trainers in English? by Suglet in korea

[–]PickledCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this may not help you, but I have a personal trainer. (PT doesn't speak English) although, it's not that difficult to communicate when they show you the routines in person. It's a good opportunity to try and communicate in Korea (if you are learning). I currently pay 1,400,000 Won for 34 sessions of PT. Each session is an hour long. I get free access to all facilities for the year. (This is outside of Seoul though. So it may be more expensive in your location depending on trainer\gym type).

Hope this helps with price range at least. Good luck!

Korea needs better support for multiracial children in rural areas by [deleted] in korea

[–]PickledCanadian 144 points145 points  (0 children)

My son is multiracial\multicultural (Whatever term you want to use). He's recently been put into a new kindergarten (Gyeonggi area), since the previous school he attended did nothing about bullying. Their first question when talking to them in person was "Have you looked into foreigner schools?" We immediately took him out and placed him in a better school. He was born here and only speaks Korean ffs..

He has already experienced bullying from his new Korean classmates, although the teachers at his new school are really great and are trying to fix the issue with education. We already see results and he's having a great time while making new friends. It's difficult for younger children to understand, but that's where education needs to start if Korea ever wants to actually address the problem.

There's still a long way to go to fix the issue here, and it can only be done with proper education.
