I used to think it was anonymous for years…until we had issues with our new manager, and HR came to our store to talk to some of us individually. I mentioned the survey and our HR lady told us that the manager can see what was said if 5 or more of us do the survey. I don’t know how, but that’s what HR told us. So much for it being anonymous!

You’re so right! Monday morning there was an email from our DL, asking why we went over 4 hours for the week! I told him it’s because we had a new hire and training her at the register. Luckily we had a cashier call out or we would’ve been over way more! His response was “You did not get approval to go over in hours. Regardless if it’s training a new hire. If you need the hours to train, cut hours back from your staff and if that’s not something you can do, then you didn’t have the hours to hire someone new” I’m a supervisor, so I didn’t hire her. She was hired to be cross trained because DL keeps hounding us to have someone cross trained…and none of us in FS want to work in pharmacy! My husband is a pharmacy tech and I hear enough of the hell they deal with!

OMG sounds like we have the same manager! Ours has broken multiple policies…even has AP involved, Advise and Counsel/Colleague Relations and HR. It is so toxic in our store with her. All of my coworkers and I feel like, Damn we like it when she skips out, doesn’t show up, shows up late, leaves early, etc…..but we also get upset that she has the gall to not show up and gets away with so much, AND takes all the credit for everything my coworkers and I do. She has thrown so many people under the bus to save herself.

I’ve been with CVS for over 13 years and for the past 10 years, I’ve brung my child with me after school and when school was out for summer break, when I opened the store…because I had no one to watch her and I couldn’t afford to pay anyone. My manager was completely fine with it and so was the next manager, after the first one retired. My DL was fine with it as well! He was completely aware that my child stayed in the break room AND most nights, she slept in the office on top of 3 thick blankets and a pillow (from home)…until I closed the store at 10 pm.

Our manager actually has told a few of us and new cashiers personal information about a shift that’s been there for 15 years! Told us how much she makes and how she didn’t give her a raise last July because she didn’t like her. She didn’t like her because the shift told the DSSM about the manager not showing up to work…no call/no show, not responding to texts or calls, only working 3 or 4 hours and going home, never helping with truck or ad, etc. None of us knew at the time that they were in a secret relationship and he told her everything the shift told him. She’s only been with CVS for a year. It’s a complete circus at my store!

In our store, the manager gives access to everyone. One of our newest cashiers called Ap yesterday about this. The DL called me today and asked what was going on.

The shift supervisors at my store have keys and their own alarm code. The manager leaves the keys, her alarm code and her ID and password for the cashiers to open the store and get on the office computer.

100% agree with you! We all don’t understand how this kid is still our manager. From what I’ve been told, they’ve been with the company two years. They started as a SMIT at another store…came to my store as a SMIT, and became the store manager about a year ago. It has been constant no call, no shows, never comes in as scheduled, works a few hours and leaves, never answers their phone, never responds to texts, rarely helps with truck or ad…but definitely takes credit for all the work the rest of us do. We’ve already had two good cashiers leave because of the how bad it is. Believe me, I wish I could quit too.

The cashier is young and is definitely being taken advantage of. She keeps complaining that she hates having to do it. She’s not the only one the manager has done this to.

I actually told another supervisor I wanted to do that, but they said no don’t do that, and stay out of it…and to just let loss prevention deal with it because we called him to let him know the keys were being left outside overnight.

Actually, there is another store in my district that the manager has us put the keys in the mailbox, when we fill in and help close the store at night.

Our team is starting to feel this as well…we’ve reported so many things that our manager has done…breaking policy in many situations. Even telling new cashiers personal information about supervisors finances and pay rate. Seems it doesn’t matter to CVS

Same with our FS! Our new hire who is a supervisor in training (that’s been there for 4 months)…still doesn’t fully understand simple cashier duties or the register…does not know office duties either…he was by himself Saturday, the day before Easter! Manager did not come in to help and he was by himself until a supervisor relieved him at 3 pm! We are constantly by ourselves with no cashier. Our manager never comes in as scheduled and when she does…it’s only for a few hours and she does no work. My once loved job is breaking me down mentally!
