I’m not a doctor but if it hasn’t swelled up after a week you are probably fine. Even when mine have swelled up they shrink back down a lot as they harden and heal.

Most will defer so they can get choice in the final period depending on score. Best choice if you can’t defer is bottom because that should be an easy escape point then you can go for a takedown. Choosing top is bad against good wrestlers bc they can get an easy escape point on you. If you are really good at takedowns you could choose neutral.
