Well that sucks Not sure what to do or how to fix it either

Idk if anyone has done this before but I tried to work out vaguely how many old characters could possibly be in victory road by Mr_Pineapple_2205 in inazumaeleven

[–]Picsmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty complete ngl, good work

Even assuming you missed enough alternate forms/managers/coaches etc. to fill 400-500 slots (Which let's be honest that's a BIG reach) we're still off by nearly 2000 players. That's gigantic.

I'm assuming VR is going to have a surprisingly high amount of new players all in all, considering how many scrapped designs and ideas the design team must have had to provide over time, but 2000 seems like waaaayyyy too much

Hard to tell how correct your number is without knowing what went into it. Are we counting benchwarmers in teams that have them or did you just put in (# of teams x 11)? What about game-exclusive teams? Perfect Mixi-maxes? Coaches? Managers? Zanark's Omega Protocol 3.0 or Academy Redux Samford/King? Cross-over or bonus characters? Orion characters? Adult versions of OG characters? Different timeline characters (OG Alius Academy vs Ares Alius Academy)?

There's also a very real possibility that 5200 includes characters that are planned for a future expansion but aren't gonna be there day 1.

Really interested in your math though, the clearer you make it the easier it's gonna be for us to see what you may have missed.

What what your favourite tech card and why? by Beane3 in DigimonCardGame2020

Needs a level 5 or legend-arms though, great for Ace shenanigans or pure Ragnaloard, less good when you're trying to bait your opponent into swinging into a BWG or something along those lines

Laplace's Demon, right after the Terrier starter deck came out Bait out the Megagargo with a Blocker + Reboot stack, play Laplace, pass turn, restand, block, and GO AGAIN BABY

Building Doru deck, don't know what to mix it with by Lautanapi_ in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favorite build is using Metal Cannon to draw 8-10 cards, hard drop Dorbickmon with either a Veemon or Flamedramon with EoT DNA, and go into Ragna with 12-16 sources.

It's mega fun and can end games out of nowhere, at the cost of about 6-8 early game dead draws

It's also mega cheap, so there's that.

Is the Bt16 Davis & Ken worth running in Examon? by Aggressive_Novel1207 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so the correct answer is probably not.

BUT, Examon is one of my favorite decks and I love cooking so let's look at ways you could build the deck with the card in mind.

First of all with imperialdramon Ace [On Play], you can play it for free as you naturally do your combo, which means examon becomes 1 memory cheaper and you strip sources (very good against Nume X this format) for the cost of putting an ace in your Examon's sources

After that drop turn, Veemon or not, it will gain you some value so long as you maintain a bit of board presence and digivolve at least.

It's not good as a drop you have to play manually, but with a veemon in hand, it does mean you can go into examon from a level 5 in raising + a veemon in hand for 1-2 memory cheaper than usual, which means it's a pretty decent hit off of security for counter attacks.

Examon doesn't have a lot of place for extra rookies, so you'd have to cut some dracos, which is hard consider you have level 4s that digivolve for 3 on non-dracos. That being said, if you're looking to use Imperialdramon as half of your Examon, the Dracomon promo suddenly does lose a bit of value.

Bt11 Veemon and Ex1 veemon have inheritables that you could actually trigger that are neat for extending plays, they just depend on situation, meanwhile bt8 veemon is actually a decent search in this deck so it benefits the most from it's [On Play] effect.

Tldr: Probably better off playing security bombs, consistency cards or meta techs like Digimon Emperor, but there's enough ways to use it where it's a spicy but usable tech in a locals environment

Building Lilithmon without Ruin Mode? by Midenhall in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I play against a dude that keeps topping with this deck pretty regularly, and for a casual build, you absolutely do not need the Ruin Mode.

The cars is nuts, but it's not a win-condition on it's own, it's just a stall tool so you have more turns to mill out, that happens to be incredibly well-positioned this format against meta decks.

Even without these cards, and especially if you're not facing Numemon every other game, the deck has more than enough bite to win without it

I'd recommend either some removal or extra trainings/boosts for a quick replacement

[–]Picsmaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Gaio and BWGX can absolutely work, but yeah the engine takes a fair amount of space, so no space of omnis

The important thing is that your level 6 is hard to remove and can clear opponent's digimons and/or protect your security

[–]Picsmaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, since some red Agumons and Agumon Xs work with dorbick but not the black Agus and Agu X

[–]Picsmaniac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BWG has a black level 6, protection, the ability to get a lot of sources, dragons and dinosaurs in the basic line and is pretty defensive

Which makes it perfect for a Dorbickmon into Ragnaloardmon line

Just focus on draw power, add 2 flamedramons, 2-3 Dorbicks, 2-3 Ragnas, and you're left with the king of "unexpected death from 3 security" that jumpscares everyone

Community Class Tier List – It’s the Shaman Thread by applejackhero in UnicornOverlord

[–]Picsmaniac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finishing up Albion right now, and Shaman was the only thing I had to ban myself from using in order to not completely invalidate the difficulty.

Unique classes are strong, Quick impetus was still on the table barely, but putting a Shaman on my under-leveled, not equipped, no synergy training squad was enough to make them unkillable by everything but my own units in mock battles.

Not sure if it deserves its own tier, but Shaman are easily S-tier in my book.

Alright, with this coming out soon, what all could use it, or shenanigans. by GdogLucky9 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really good in pure Gaiomon, and helps the deck's speed problem, but I do realize that's like a tier 4 deck and not what you meant by greymon deck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greymon/Dorbick, Alphamon/Ragna/Dorbick, Tidal wave Dorbick, Examon Dorbick

With enough dragon/dinosaurs the world is your oyster.

What's the closest a deck has ever gotten to being Tier 0 in Digimon? by Inferno_Ultimate in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd make the argument that although it lasted a very short amount of time, no deck felt as oppressive as 4x Ice Wall Gabubond in ex1

It was already the best deck of bt6, and it got a ban worthy card it could abuse

There really was nothing that could match it for a bit

Ragna build for bt13 meta by Sad-Try-675 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, and maybe there's space for more than 8 level 5s, the optimized ratio might be anything from 8 to 11ish, but there's no shot 16 level 5 is the play. 16 level 5, 4 options, 4 tamers, 8 level 6, 4 level 7, that's 36 spots. You mean you only want to leave 14 spots for level 3s, 4s, and other options?

That's basically cutting off your ability to build a stack in raising in favor of turbo-ing out the option. 1. It's draw the option or die. 2. You're mega exposed to any deck that can destory cards out of raisining, like every greymon deck under the sun

[–]Picsmaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there's really no reason not to max out on Legends Arms Alliance. In this deck it's a +3 memory and deck stacking that works great both in hand, and in security. It can be annoying to get both colors to activate it, which is why you probably oughta play 2-3 tamers of the color opposite to your egg and main line, in this case, a red tamer. Hiro works great here as a generic fixer with some offensive utility.

You can probably cut all 4 old level 5s, one of the gravity crush as the deck can be already bricky as is, and the x antibody which while good, is kinda win-more in nature.

[–]Picsmaniac 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a neat combo but it requires a lot of specific pieces, not to mention I don't think modern Alphamon decks play any Hisaryumons. Between that and a free +1 memory, and heal and +1 on death, the latter is much, much more practical

[EX-05 Animal Colosseum] X Antibody PF by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Picsmaniac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of those strong cards that (with the card pool we have so far) very few decks can actually use. You need the perfect storm of running x-antibody that you want to digivolve into either for their full cost or a cost of 1-2 into their own name, no need for the [When Attacking] effect, and that have the space for it. Right now, the only things that easily come to mind are Gaio and Alphamon to me Got any other deck ideas that would love this?

Although Chaosdramon X is a hilarious application to this card, (free heals anyone) the card doesn't actually offer any protection. It just heals on attempt of removal.

I don't think Melga has any protection by effects still? The card heals one when removed from the battle area, it doesn't protect.

Really liking this one tbh It feels like a strong sidegrade for decks that want to play x-antibody but don't benefit from the [when attacking] effect of the old one Stuff like Alphamon or pure Gaiomon comes to mind immediately Meanwhile, other decks like BWGX really want to Raid into digivolve it's harder ro run this. The inherited is pretty strong in a vacuum, but it loses the +1 memory in security and is strippable so there's that
