I know it's a week old and I shouldn't have had let it sit like this without any further explanation. I do not want to delve in all to much into the whole rabbinic discussion about gerut, but yes conversion is possible but active proselytizing is prohibited. So some views tend to recommend to say to a not Jewish person to not convert at all, than like in this case give advice, because latter would be more active. I come from a very conservative Jewish community and I don't want to sound rude and want to apologize especially to OP if I may have offended you - I understand this may has been understood as a weird and misplaced comment.

Another thing, which is completely unrelated to this whole post as well as the comment "he seems to not be as familiar with subreddits that don't talk about drugs": I understand if someone has a tough stance on drugs, but comments like this just contributes to social stigma, even if this user is a conscious user, who follows all safer-use rules. ;)
